Ok, i think i scared off this guy that likes me, but im not sure.. So, what happened was, I sent him a text asking him how his Xmas was. He replied with, "it was good, would have been better with u by my side, then he said, "i still owe you ur gift." I replied by saying, "you dont have to give me a gift babe, you are my gift" Did I scare him off by telling him he was my gift?? What does the phrase, "you are my gift" mean to u guys??

He responed by saying,"and ur mine:) im very lucky to have u in my life.." is he brushing me off by saying that?? I really did not mean it in a commitment way, i meant to say his friendship was a gift to me but it came out the wrong way:(

i am a guy... and honestly i would have been overjoyed in hearing that... but me and the guy that you like are not one in the same... so i can't really speak for him... but he could have been overwhelmed by you saying that and it could have taken him by surprise and he might not have known what to say
but i dont think you scared him off unless all he want's is sex... him sayin i want you by my side... well when you are there things are more likely to happen... and then you saying you are my gift... well that's more of a commitment statement and he could have been like f--k this all i want is, whatever. but then again he may have been scared of commitement so you may have scared him off but all in all i dont think you did
i think you just really made him happy =)

That's crazy if that scared him. If worse comes to worse, you could say something like, "yes, I value your friendship". He probably was happy from the text, and couldn't come up with something witty to say, and so just left it at that. A lot of guys only say something if they have something witty or funny to say, otherwise, they won't bother saying anything. Don't sweat it...you were just being nice. He can't possibly freak out about that...in fact, he started it by saying he wanted to be with you! :)

it depends on if he is afraid of commitment but most guys take that as an admission of love or something u should confront him and ask him if u scared him and say something like u were just kidding or something and see what he says

that u want him and really like him it sounds like he really likes you or just have fun with you both ways just ask him a question and if he likes you then he anwser back if not then just let it go.
