To make the plot more interesting.
The way religious folks describe their god, he is an author writing a novel - he invents all the characters, decides what's going to happen right from the start, knows the whole plot before it's even written. Presumbably all the evil has to go in to make a good story.
(of course the real answer is that no gods exist in reality - everyone knows that).

Proverbs 16:4 The LORD hath made all [things] for himself: yea, even the wicked for the day of evil....
He also raised up Pharoah so that He could destroy Him before His people. Satan is the prince of this world...but the Lord will destroy Him. He also corrects those who are His so that they turn to Him for mercy.

God created u as a free moral agent. U have the right to make a choice. If everything was good and no evil then u wouldn't have much of a choice would u.

Jehovah did not create evil he gave free will which Satan used for personal gain and challenged Jehovah's right to rule mankind as a loving God Jehovah has allowed Satan the time to
try to prove his claim. By your own question it is apparant that you can see that Satan is failing miserably

Cold is the absence of warmth. Dark is the absence of light. Evil is the absence of good. God created good. Evil was not created by God. Evil is the absence of goodness--evil is where God is not.
Plus, we choose evil. Unless you want to get into a huge, long discussion about choice (trust me, it takes about 1 1/2 to explain the whole dealio), just leave it be.

He did not create evil. He created free will, and some of the angels chose evil. Adam and Eve chose evil as well which resulted in sin. What you have now is a world full of evil.
