Help!! Now everytime I start up my computer, it would shut down by itself and give me a blue screen. The blue screen would say something about "your computer has shut down to prevent it from any damage and if it is your first time seeing this restart comp. or do the following below". Theres a big long code and also, at the bottom it said something about "Memory dump, memory dump completed". I restarted it, but didnt help so I went into safe mode. I heard it was about bad RAM or harddrive? How can I fix this problem? I need my computer back asap!!

Plug your hard drive into a friends computer and run chkdsk /f from the run line. Defrag your hard drive afterwards. Does it work? If not, do a search for
*.dmp
files and get the latest dump file, ...dmp.... Go to Microsoft's website and download WinDbg.exe, windows debugger and do a search for the instructions on how to read a dump file. That will tell you what's wrong with it.
You can also write down the Stop code it gives you that looks like
0x000084e33 (0x00000004e, 0x000000002c, 0x000000000, 0x000000000)
Ignore the 0x00000000 ones because the only valid codes are the ones with values. Google them and see what others have to say about your specific code.
Good luck!

What you are experiencing is commonly known as the "Blue screen of death". It means that your windows installation has somehow become corrupt, possibly due to a virus or other problem.
If your computer came with restore CDs or a Windows installation CD, you will need to use them to restore your system. Please note that if you have to do this, you will lose any files on your PC. However if you can do a repair from the Windows CD, your files will NOT be lost.
You can do a repair from the Windows CD (If you have it) by going into the BIOS (When you boot and see the first screen, it will probably say something like "Press del to enter setup) and telling the machine to boot from CD, and then inserting the Windows CD and following the on screen instructions to do a repair.
If you do not have the means to do a repair and you have important files on your PC, you may need to look into getting data recovery BEFORE doing a restore or installing Windows. Alternatively, you could remove the hard drive from your machine and use a USB caddy to attach the hard drive to another machine via USB. (This may not work depending on the exact problem with the hard drive)
UPDATE: Since you can boot into safe mode, i would suggest doing this and burning your files to a CD or copying them to an external hard drive, and then doing a System Restore from the CDs or using the Windows System Restore utility.

So does it work in safe mode? Those both use your memory and hard drive. Have you downloaded any updates lately? Updated agents are famous for causing problems.
You may wish to contact a repairman. I repair computers, and I carry around memory and disk diagnostics, a power supply tester, and a variety of specialized tools to help locate and repair the problem.

The blue screen is giving you an error message. Windows creates over 1100 of those, so it's important to get the wording EXACTLY as it appears on the screen.
Armed with that information, we can assist you in fixing the issue.

Somecomponent in your computer is bad which causes a "stop error" or crash. That happens to me on "occasion." If you are getting it all the time, you have a serious problem somewhere with either a device or software issues. Only a good technician can figure it out. Good luck to you.

I had this problem. Its known as "the blue screen of death" :p.
If its just when your starting up your computer thats BAD. I only got it when playing games. Go on google and search for a "video card update" and download the latest updates for your video card. :) That solved my problem.

Have you added / changed or installed anything to your computer lately? If so, remove or uninstall it. Otherwise, try this:
- Run in Safemode and reboot to run in Last Known good configuration
- Reboot computer in Normal mode
- Run defrag your HDD or try this "UltimateDefrag". Run a couple of times.
