Too many is the only answer. But then what price do you put on a life and what price do you put on freedom. The troops in Afghanistan and Iraq are fighting for the chance of freedom for 50 million people. Not a bad deal for those 50 million.

Do you understand the power that the UN in supposed to have and that the UN is supposed to act as a unified body for world peace, Human right and international law. When Iraq lost the first Gulf War they (Iraq) agreed to do thing and follow UN resolutions to keep the peace. For 12 years Iraq flipped the bird to the UN, road blocks at every turn. The first incidents were small and as they grew no one did anything. Bill Clinton was more worried about World opinion and not UN Resolutions which are to be considered international law. So as Iraq broke the peace treaty they get war. Did you not pay attention to the destruction of Germany and Japan? Their population devastated? War is supposed to be so gruesome that no one would want to fight one because of the destruction. Iraq right now does have Liberty, Democracy, and freedom. Of course there are those elitist who would say they don't deserve it because they wouldn't fight for it themselves. Bull No one in Iraq knew freedom of choice in their lifetime completely removed by a generation. It takes time for the blindfolded sheep to realize they can see.

I don't know... I tried a quick search, but was unable to find the number for 2007.

The number of casualties in Iraq and Afghanistan are easy enough to find, but that doesn't cover everything.

I don't know, but did you know that no terrorist attacks happened this year because our troops are keeping us safe? Also, did you know that more people die in the USA of murders than soldiers dying in combat?

Pretty rough on my hometown Albert, but thats cool, i know its getting bad there.

To the asker, is there a point to this, or do you just want a number of my fellow soldiers who died for their country.

More people were killed by liberal drug addicts in Philadelphia than the number of US troops killed in Iraq and Afghanistan combined...How come there is no outcry against them.

It is not how they died that we call them heros---it is how they lived. they are not numbers they are selfless men and women who have chosen to make the greatest sacrifice.
