I am not asking what system is better. I am wondering whether the PS3 or the Wii is a better suited system for myself. Right now, I am leaning towards the PS3 because my favorite game ever is Madden NFL football and I hear it is better on the PS3. My mind can be changed, so please help me!

PS3 is MUCH stronger technically, more than 300 games will be released in 2008. You can use it for internet, watching blu-ray movies (it's HD ready), you can install other OS (Linux based) and use it as a very strong PC. Wii is the weakest console on the market (even weaker than 360). It's good for senior citizens and toddlers. Graphics are horrible.

Well since everyone is biased towards the PS3 I'll just give you an overview of what I think.
Wii- Family centered, geared towards younger age group, party system, very fun inivative way to play.
PS3- Old style, nice graphics, fun in an old-fashioned way.
So if you're worried about graphics, and just want to play like you always have then pick the PS3
If you dont really care about graphics and want some fun games with a fun new way to play choose the Wii

wii to me still feels like a fad unless 3rd party developers actually start to make great titles for it. its going down the same path gamecube did right now, which is that nintendo makes good games for it but no one else. like gamecube id buy super smash bros. and mario kart but not much else.
oh and to nino, ps3 will be on the market for 7-10 years. good luck waiting. microsoft might make a new system in a couple years though since they wont be able to keep up with what sony will be able to do in a few years.

Go with ps3 for sports games wii is more family oriented and to the guy who said wait for a ps4 you wont have a nextgen console for 6 years so good luck idiot.(not the asker im referring to the guy who said wait for a ps4)

Wii is not good for sports games at all. It is mainly for family-centered games and kiddie things like that.
The ps3 houses manly power, which contribute to the great sports games that are out for it, especially in HD, right now

you should get ps3 becasue it has a faster system, better graphics, it has a lot of features that wii dosn't have, there might not be alot of games on it but the games on it now are very good like smackdown vs raw 2008, or assasins creed
