The thing is, a firm belief in Jesus means that your deeds change. You can't really separate the two.

The reason is that Jesus preached love and hope to us all, right? All of His sermons and teachings and examples pointed to the road that love leads down. If you follow that same road, the results of the things you do will change. Therefore, your deeds are evidence of the belief you now have.

It requires both. Not only firm belief in Jesus the Christ, but also obeying and doing the job required to be done by those worshiping Jesus' Father. (Matt.24:14)

True, there is no "work" we can do to earn eternal life. This does not mean God does not have anything for us to do if we expect to have His favor. The Bible requires changes in lifestyle as in living by Bible standards.

You as a parent will always love your children. Also as a parent, you require certain obedience from them, chores and the like for training to become successful adults. You know they will always be your kids but will not truly become good adults if they disobey you. Things carry over.

If you have a firm belief in what Jesus did, then You would believe that you were free from the bondage to sin and could overcome sin and as you studied the Bible your mind would be transformed to obey God's word.

Friend it is 100% grace by Jesus Christ.

You can not mix grace and works which is what deeds are.
its not
50% God and 50% Man
it is not
75% God and 25% Man
it is not
75% Man and 25% God
or any other combination

it is 100% totally God.

Our deeds are as filthy rags in the site of God.

Ephesians 2:8-10 for by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, (9) not of works, that no one would boast. (10) For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared before that we would walk in them.

We are not saved by works. The faith that saves us also causes us to do works though.

James 2:17 Even so faith, if it has no works, is dead in itself.

A duck goes quack, because it is a duck - not to become a duck. A Christian does works, because he/she is a Christian - not to become a Christian.

Ephesians 2:8-10 not withstanding, I'll go with the words of Jesus over the words of Paul anytime -- another difference betrween a catholic and a fundie.

I tell ya I don't know from ducks, but I do know what jesus said in Mathew 25:31-46.

Are there really any questions about this?

How could He make it clearer?

There is nothing about faith in this only ACTION.

There are none so blind as those who will not see. If you were blind your sin would be forgiven but you say you see, so your sin remains. The fundies are the new pharisies -- so sure of themselves ...

You are not followers of Jesus you are followers of Paul and Luther. Stop calling youselves Chsirtians ... faith alone? ...
"Turn or Burn"

Matthew 31-46 (see below)

The Sheep and the Goats
31"When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, he will sit on his throne in heavenly glory. 32All the nations will be gathered before him, and he will separate the people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. 33He will put the sheep on his right and the goats on his left.
34"Then the King will say to those on his right, 'Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. 35For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, 36I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.'
37"Then the righteous will answer him, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? 38When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? 39When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?'
40"The King will reply, 'I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.'
41"Then he will say to those on his left, 'Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. 42For I was hungry and you gave me nothing to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me nothing to drink, 43I was a stranger and you did not invite me in, I needed clothes and you did not clothe me, I was sick and in prison and you did not look after me.'
44"They also will answer, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or needing clothes or sick or in prison, and did not help you?'
45"He will reply, 'I tell you the truth, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me.'
46"Then they will go away to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life."

How can you say you beleive in Jesus if you don't act the way he wanted us to act?
