Maybe you should really be talking to him about this.

With the 'he avoids going to get our marriage license'...you are planning on getting married in the next month? I know that most states have a certain time period when you need to apply, like no more than 30 days before your date.

I would definitely talk to him. Maybe there are people that are asking that you guys dont want there or they know people that wont be invited so he doesnt want to tell people and have them spread the word until the invitations are out. Also like someone said before unless you are getting married this month most marriage licenses are only good for 30 days.
That being said you really need to talk to him. If you can't or if you really think that he is wanting to be with his ex maybe this is not the right time to get married. You really dont want to go into a marriage with doubts or problems.
I wish you the best of luck. Just talk to him maybe he has a rational answer for whats going on!

Sounds like he just has a bit of cold feet. It's normal in us gals, so I would hazard to say it is normal in the guys too.

Marriage as you know is a tremendous step, and now he is questioning himself (probably not you) about if he is ready to become a good husband. Getting the license would mean everything moves forward full steam ahead, and he is just procrastinating.

So when is the wedding date?

The marriage license is only valid for 30 days (from the location we are getting married in).

Well first of all how long have you and he been together. If it is a short relationship it could be he has cold feet....if it is a long term one than he may be waiting for you to jump in and take charge. Either way this is a problem and you both need to sit down and talk and start making plans either way.

This sounds like something you need to discuss with him. If your communication is not good this early in the relationship their is no hope for your future.
You say you've set the date....does that mean you've booked a location and put down a deposit or just that you've picked a date. Have him put his money where his mouth is or give him back his ring and tell him to try again later when he means it.

Talk to him...

(If you're engaged, you should be able to do that much!) :)

Maybe he's just thinking of pushing the date back...maybe due to finances?

Maybe he wants to move it FORWARD.

Maybe he wants to bring the subject up with you, but he hasn't figured out how...

Don't let your mind wander to too many things! Just ask him first. :)

Good luck!

This is something you should really be discussing with him. You won't know until you ask him and trying to figure it out without talking to him about it will only cause you to worry and start stressing.
