I'm getting a facial done in a couple of weeks. Is there anything that I need to do the week before, day before, and day of?

I already have a skin care regime in place. Should I just keep doing what I normally do, or should I limit the products that I use so that my skin doesn't get irritated?

Do I need to/should I bring anything with me? What kind of questions will I be asked before we choose my customized facial? What kinds of info should I know about my skin??

thanks!

Your clinician will tell you all of this. Most often, right after the facial (depending upon type you have) you will want to be off the rest of the day to let you skin calm down a bit. It make be a bit red, esp. if they do extractions. Take a list of questions with you. Be sure to put your hair up and off your face as it will likely get wet.

Wash your face with soap and warm water. Rinse completely with cool water and then pat your face dry. Do this on the day of your facial. Do not apply any creams or lotions.

The person giving you the facial will explain things to you and ask various questions. Most likely she/he will want to know about your overall skin condition, what kinds of products you use, whether you wear makeup and what kind of makeup, what your skin care regimen is, and problems with zits or rashes. At that time you can ask whatever questions pop into your mind and which the beautician has not already addressed.

What type of facial are you getting? From a clinic? I would suggest getting a one on one consultation with a Mary Kay consultant. There is nothing harsh that is going to happen with your face and with a facial you get microdermabrasion. In the salons it is upwards of $300 for this. I would reconsider what you are having done

I have no professional experience, and the concept of doing something a week ahead would never have occurred to me. I find your perspective fascinating.

I would call the salon for these answers, and change my use of "bring" to "take".

you might want to lessen the amounts that you will use. you don't have to take anything with you. they'll probably just ask you want you've been using for you face.
