If you want help you should not be telling us on how and what to answer. You need to hear about the evil of your ways. You know you have a real problem and are affraid to see a doctor.Where are your parnents? You want to be skinny for your boyfriend do you?

You obviously only want to hear answers that suit you. Unfortunately I can't do that for you. The reason you have not had a period for 6 months is probably to do with your diet and weight loss. It does not sound as if you are in good health. Life is not all about weight or even shape. Eat a sensible diet - perhaps you do need the help of a dietician to sort out what would help you. NO there are no supplements or vitamins which would start your periods. Don't kid yourself about not getting pregnant if you have not had a period. Many young women have thought they were safe until they found they were pregnant. Best of luck for 2008!!!!

Your periods have stopped because your body is not getting enough nutrition to function normally.
Depending on how much you actually eat, 'eating more' may be the only way for your cycle to start returning to normal.
Eating more doesn't have to mean stuffing yourself with burgers and such, but just maintaining a healthy diet.
If you eat healthy foods and excercise regularly, there is no reason why you can't stay at your desired weight.
Foods contain all sorts of vitamins and nutrients which are vital to us, so just eating a couple of rice cakes a day will not do. Your body is already telling you that you are causing harm by the fact your periods have stopped.

Also - depsite the fact you are not having periods does NOT mean you can't get pregnant - i can't stress that enough. You should definitely use protection regardless, if not for the risk of becoming pregnant, but the risk of contracting a sexually tranismitted disease.

Well since you are apparently not eating a healthy diet, taking a broad spectrum Multiple vitamin morning and night would be smart.

I would talk to an Ob. Gyn. about this. I have never had this problem. But I do know that Gymnasts occasionally have this problem, from being lean and excessive exercise.

I really do not know if you should count on no periods for Birth control. That might not be the case.

I know you don't want to hear this, but you're extremely underweight. At your height and your weight, your BMI (body mass index) is around 14.8 (a healthy range would be 18.5 to 24.9...that's 125 to 168 lbs.)

Having secondary amenorrhea (absence of a period) won't cause problems now, but it could cause problems in the future if you ever want to have a family. If you do have sex, still take all the precautions necessary to avoid pregnancy.

Basically if you want your period, you're gonna have to gain some weight. You can go to a doctor, but they'll probably tell you the same thing.

Well, the snag is that everytime you miss a period it damages your innards, possibly making you infertile one day. Your body cannot give up blood for a period unless it knows it can replace the iron and the fluids lost - sorry, but you have to eat.
By the way - if you get pregnant now (which I doubt you can, but it's a bit daft to have unprotected sex anyway) your baby will be severly malnourished and will probably end up disabled because of it. So it would be very silly to try.

I went two years without a period because I was too skinny. I gained weight when I decided I wanted to have a baby ( which I haven't been able to do still). You aren't going to get a period again until you gain weight. It's just how it works. And yes not having your period does cause health issues.. such as it is easier to get cancer. I know you want to stay skinny... trust me I know.. but it isn't worth it. Good luck!

To have your period you need an adequete amount of nutrition. If you aren't already taking a daily multivitamin than I suggest you start. But you probably won't get your period so long as you stay so thin. Sorry, but its gone. :(
-and you may not have to worry about getting preggy at all, ever, even 10 years or so from now. You proably already know this, but you could render yourself permanently infertile.

The thyroid gland is situated at the front of the throat, below the Adam’s apple. It comprises two lobes that lie on either side of the windpipe, joined in front by an isthmus. The thyroid gland secretes hormones to regulate many metabolic processes, including growth and energy expenditure. Hypothyroidism means the thyroid gland is underactive and fails to secrete enough hormones into the bloodstream. This causes the person’s metabolism to slow down.

Drawbacks to not having a period? No, I don't think there are.
But the fact they've stopped is proof that your body isn't getting the nutrition it needs. Are there drawbacks to that? I'm sure I don't need to tell you the answer is yes.
