hi i am an independent contractor ( mystery shopper to be exact). This year, I mde a total of $71 in fees and $27 in bonuses. I also receive $51.17 in reimbusements. This means that i made a$98 with bonus for the whole year. I am a mother of one and my husband's company file taxes for him. i am wondering if i need to file taxes and if i do when and how.

Thanks

If you file jointly with your husband, this income needs to be included on the return. The income goes on schedule C. If the 1099-C includes the $51.17 in expenses, subtract those out to get back to the $98. If this is the only income you had, you won't owe any additional SE Tax.

I have no idea what you meant that your husband's company files for him. If he files MFS, then you don't have a filing requirement because your income is less than $3400, but your hubby can't claim your exemption either.

I serously doubt that you will get a Form 1099, therefore it isn't reported.
