You have to have great grades and great SAT scores. You also have to participate in school sports or any after school activities like volunteering or something. NYU wants to see a student that does very well academically and contributes to the local community. They dont want to see a student that just studies all the time. You probably will have to write a personal statement and you have to write a very good one too.

NYU isn't really THAT hard to get into- I mean, it's not Ivy League or anything, so all you need to do is concentrate on getting good grades (all A's with maybe a B here and there) from now until it's time to apply to colleges. Also, you may want to bruch up on your essay-writing skills, as NYU will want you to write an application essay (they're usually about something that is important to you, like a specific cause or hobby), and pretty much all incoming NYU students are good essay writers, so you'll want yours to stand out in terms of writing style, substance, and conventions such as grammar, spelling, and punctuation.

One more thing: NYU accepts SAT and ACT scores, so do yourself a favor senior year and take both the SAT and the ACT exams, and just turn in the scores for whichever one you did best in. Good luck to you, and follow your dreams! : )

Well first you need to have good grades in highschool. Not just average B's. You need to push for those A's and take advanced classes or honors classes, not just normal classes that are of no challenge. You need to participate in extra curicular activities, the more the better, and a better variety is better too!! If members of different things, try to go for leadership positions such as captain of the basketball team or editor of the yearbook. Also get a high SAT score... at least 1200 I would say now a days! These are good things that colleges look for. Also look into volunteering. =) GOOD LUCK!!

Study really hard. Take difficult courses. Have a lot of leadership stuff for your extra-curricular activities (don't join a club; be the president of the club.) Have a "hook"...something unusual that most people don't have. Good luck, because it really is a difficult school to get into.

If you get in, make the most of it. If you don't, know that it isn't the only school in the world, and make yourself happy wherever you are. You can do it! Best of luck!

Get good grades, and try really hard. Make sure you do pretty well on your ACT/SAT respectfully.

First you have to get decent grades and enough on the SAT to qualify...than take it from there.
