why cant i copy any more data between two ps2 memory cards, even though i have more than enough memory left?

it is a 64 mb i-con memory card

sometimes the ps2 doesn't realize that the amount of space left is bigger, since it isn't a sony brand.

i know that sounds kinda dumb, but the simple refusal to see more than 8mb on a non-sony card might be it.
