I would paint it a baby blue and put pictures in frames of the ocean or beaches. A large photo (bigger than 8x11) Just adding relaxing music is calming. If you dont like the beach idea, make it themed by your favorite place in the world. If you like cold places like alaska, give it a log cabin feel. Or a woods if you like the great outdoors.

It's all about color. Calming colors come from the sea and the sand, mountains, the sky . Colors of nature relax. Use sand, white and blue. Blue walls, sand comforter with blue accents and white trim. Don't use bold colors like red, orange or yellow. Light blue, white and pale sage are a good combination. Hide away any clutter. Less is best when you are trying to relax.

what's relaxing for you might not be the same thing as is relaxing for others, but choose a relaxing color scheme, like blues or greens, maybe get a decorating book to help you, try adding things like a small running fountain, flowers, etc.

HGTV has alot of helpful hints, but me personally, I would suggest using lighter earth tone colors, example pale yellow or tan walls and lighter (cream or white) bedding with accent pillows that match the walls, furniture and or floor colors to tie it all in. This also helps to largen the look of small size rooms.
A example:
My color in my master is called ottertail (color of chocolate milk), with white bedding, chairs, drapes, and linens. And I tie it all together with accent pillows that have 4 different patterns of tan (ottertail), white, and chocolate (to blend my dark cherry wood furniture).
Hope this helps! Good luck.
