what do you think would cause me to be a hypocrite?
I think it is the human inability to keep from all sin.
Try as we may, we can not be perfect or even come close, and we should never expect any one else to either.
Only jesus is without sin or error. What do you think?

Desiree,
who do you think you are?
An equal to God, who sees and knows all, and is the only one that knows a mans heart or his actions. You are stereo typing me. You don't know me at all.

Lulu, I agree with you 100%.
I am not a hypocrite. I do follow God closely and obedeintly to His Word.
Yet, I am not going to deny, that their have been times when I have acted like a hypocrite. If non-believers think that most Christians are hypocrites, it's because, not enough Christians tell the truth about themselves in the area of sin.
A lot of Christians do struggle with sin, some do act like idiots that know it all.
But, instead of just telling people about Gods unconditional love, and salvation, they judge and point out the sin in others. Which gives people a distorted view about Gods true nature and character
Jesus said, to take the log out of your own eye, before you try to get the speck out of someone elses.

Trying to be more like Jesus everyday is not really a hypocrite. It is a process but we must make progress. Yes we will fall down sometimes but we must get back up again. That's where God's grace and Mercy come in at.We must learn from are mistakes when ever God deals with us about them That's the whole purpose of the gift of the holy spirit. Our body is the temple of the holy ghost and we must handle the temple carefully just like the levites handle the temple in the old testament, and that is our reasonable service to him. The Bible also says let not mercy and kindness forsakes thee, So we can not let God's mercy and grace forsake us. God is calling us to holiness. At least you are on the right path because god will deliver you as you seek his righteousness.

well someone at least admits it, thats rather refreshing.

I just hope she continues just be an imperfect human and accept herself as such, which means she must acknowledge that she will NEVER be perfect..

But the fact that she STILL believes Jesus was perfect is somewhat annoying.

Jesus lost his temper in the court of the money changers, he shouted in the temple, he threw tables around. Jesus was NOT perfect.

And dont tell me that he was "righteously angry" against all the money stuff going on in the temple.

If you went to church, and threw the communion wine around and upended the communion table, (you are angry and upset about the evils of wine and alcohol), would your priest or pastor say that you had a right to be angry?

LOL

I seriously DOUBT that.

I think your right. Only God is perfect and try as we may there is no way we can even come close. We also have no right to think others are. We should not judge what others say or do They are the ones that need to stand before the all mighty and answer for what they have done. We will have to answer for what we do.

All men fall short of being "good" because of their sins whether they are Christians, some other religion, or other state of non-belief.

While non-believers can say that they are "good" this is only because all they have to use as a measuring stick is their peers. (who are also sinful). God makes the perfect measuring stick for sin, because He is perfect.

Without God's Law, and without Jesus' sinless example, we would all be ignorant of our sins.

No one in this world will gain entrance to Heaven on their own works. It is only through Gods gift of Grace, in the sacrifice of His son.

However, faith without works is dead, and all humans should strive to have high "morals", and follow the example Jesus Christ set for us when He was flesh.

God Bless You.

I agree with you 100% but what helps me is I try not to judge anyone and try to understand/love everyone like Jesus taught us. I will NEVER condemn anyone to hell for ANY REASON because I know it is not my job but the Lord's. We can however work on our sins and try to refrain from sinning but it is human nature to sin sadly. No one will ever be perfect but we can try to live our lives(again no judging others) in HIS example.

I think we're all hypocritical at times.
Whether it deals in religion, politics, finances, or relationships.

I think we set the bar for ourselves and expect others to be at our level. And when someone isn't, then we cast them aside as not being important.

It sounds like you are rather normal to me. However, I would not interpret your behavior in terms of sin. Many people advocate behavior that they do not always perform. There are people who do not interpret every lapse as sin. Many people are not hypocrites because they do not advocate behaviors that they know are not likely to happen.
Good luck with your angst.
