Yeah, it happened once--ever--and that's an excuse for adultery? No, I wouldn't believe it, neither did Mary's parents or Joseph, for that matter, until he had the dream explaining things. Because you or I wouldn't believe it easily it must be not true? How did we get to be the deciders? Incidentally, though it didn't happen the same way, I had a virgin birth, meaning that I not only didn't have sex to get pregnant, but there was not contact with my husband and he didn't even have to be in the same room. Go figure!

Jesus Christ is the son of Mary through the power of the Holy Spirit. Whether you wish to believe or not is totally immaterial.

Jesus was born to fulfil the plan and purpose of the LORD God. Sinful people had offered the sacrifices that God desired but it never made them change their ways. Only the true sacrifice of Jesus, who was sinless, could save men and women from their sins.

It was the Emperor Constantine who decided what christians believe. He decided what "books" made up the so called "new testament" rejecting a multitude of writings that were more believable

He himself a convert to "christianity" remained somewhat pagan but wanted replacements for his gods, and his mother miraculously found the "true cross" - enoughof it remains to build a battleship!!!!

Some people believe that every birth is the work of God.

What?
Well, no because if you, like me, don't believe the story then there is no god.... it would be Mary the whore who came up with the excuse.
If you do believe it then it's the miracle of the virgin Mary.

Therein lies the split.

probably not, in those times God performed many miracles and caused devastating things also. plus the people involved had angels appearing and talking to them. if i had an angel appear to me and tell me i was going to have a "holy child" and i did, well then of course i'd believe it. but not just any dumb*** can say this and excuse cheating.

Um...God didn't do it. According to the Bible, Mary did it, because she was married at the time God impregnated her. But God wasn't married, so technically he wasn't committing adultery himself. He was definitely facilitating adultery, yes, but I don't recall that the Bible ever says anything about that.
