Why dont believers pray for world peace and the end of human suffering? I only see rants about the power of prayer when it comes to positive experiences the believers had.
Are those in 3rd world countries or hostile environments not entitled to miracles?

We're not limited in what we're allowed to pray for, criminy. Who says that believers don't pray for world peace and the end of human suffering? Many of us do.
Here's the real issue.
We ought to be praying for our understanding, strength, perseverence, ideas, courage, generosity, hope, love, compassion, tolerance, and the will to bring peace to the world and help ease suffering, whether we are asking for ourselves for humans as a whole to find these qualities.
The problem isn't that enough of us aren't praying for peace or an end to suffering, but that not enough of us from ALL faiths and belief systems are actually trying to make those things happen. God gave us the tools to do these things, but we (as a race) are too lazy to do use the tools.
Even if you don't believe in God, you still have the tools to contribute to make the world a better place.

Prayer has power and change.
I beleive the majority of Christians pray for those who are going through human suffering, not only in third world countries, but here on our soil, we are among those who are suffering here, but you may never know, and yes all are entitled to Miracles!!

Pray has no power.
1. God has power.
2. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful & effective because they have the heart of God.
Also, God is, for some reason, allowing sin to remain in the earth right now. One day, hopefully very soon, He will deal with it.
On the other hand, in His patience, there are many people every day that are turning to Him & receiving forgiveness and eternal life.
Lastly, there is a lot of good happening in the 3rd world countries. I know people who live in them & I myself have seen amazing things, even among tribal people (headhunters to be exact).
Hope this gives you a fresh perspective.

We do pray for world peace and the end of human suffering, but God cannot yet grant these prayers as they require Christ's second coming. Yet they will come, just as Christ will come.

If you don't believe in the power of prayer why do you care?
If you don't believe in God why do you care?
Those who prayer believe that they are called to do so and that if they prayer is some way God will answer them
No.. is an answer BTW

Prayer is NOT us barking orders at God.
God still has a choice as to how, when and if He is going to answer.
God is not in control of the earth. He gave that control to Adam who, for a taste of a piece of fruit, gave it to Satan.
You've got a lot to learn grasshopper.

The complicated answer: God only answers those who believe, God answers all prayers, but sometimes the answer is "no", God works in mysterious ways, etc.
The simple answer: Intercessory prayer doesn't work.
