first off: thou shalt not kill is a mistranslation..it should read thou shalt not commit premeditated murder.
secondly: Genesis 9:1-3 says: "Then God blessed Noah and his sons, saying to them, "Be fruitful and increase in number and fill the earth. The fear and dread of you will fall upon all of the beasts of the earth and all the birds of the air, upon every creature that moves along the ground, and upon all the fish of the sea; they are given into your hands. Everything that lives and moves will be food for you. Just as I gave you the green plants, now I give you everything."
and
Romans 14:2-3, "One man's faith allows him to eat everything, but another man, whose faith is weak, eats only vegetables. The mans who eats everything must not look down on him who does not, and the man who does not eat everything must not condemn the man who does, for God has accepted him."
and
(1 Tim 4:1-4 KJV) "Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron; Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth. For every creature of God is good, and nothing to be refused, if it be received with thanksgiving:"

God has no problem wut us eating meat
Lev 11:3 Whatsoever parteth the hoof, and is cloven-footed, and cheweth the cud, among the beasts, that shall ye eat.
and
Act 10:10 And he became very hungry, and would have eaten: but while they made ready, he fell into a trance,
Act 10:11 And saw heaven opened, and a certain vessel descending unto him, as it had been a great sheet knit at the four corners, and let down to the earth:
Act 10:12 Wherein were all manner of fourfooted beasts of the earth, and wild beasts, and creeping things, and fowls of the air.
Act 10:13 And there came a voice to him, Rise, Peter; kill, and eat.
Act 10:14 But Peter said, Not so, Lord; for I have never eaten any thing that is common or unclean.
Act 10:15 And the voice spake unto him again the second time, What God hath cleansed, that call not thou common.
and even Jesus ate the Passover lamb

For one thing, the DO NOT KILL Commandment is about PEOPLE...INNOCENT people. That is MURDER.
As far as eating animals, Acts chapter 10 says this:
11 He saw heaven opened and something like a large sheet being let down to earth by its four corners. 12 It contained all kinds of four-footed animals, as well as reptiles of the earth and birds of the air. 13 Then a voice told him, "Get up, Peter. Kill and eat."
So, if God says to EAT MEAT...it's ok to do so.

Pentatvh (Mose five books) is very precise about kinds of animals which are suitable for human food, about the blood, which CANT be eaten, who and how CAN kill an animal, etc. However, we can say, that people eat far too lot of meat, and that it spoils there temper.

Hi Cheez Doodle. Genesis 9:3 says, " Every moving thing that liveth shall be meat for you; even as the green herb have I given you all things."

Deuteronomy; Genesis. God made all animals and fowl and fish for men to consume. Actually, God first made beasts for Adam to choose a spouse from. That's chapter 2:19 in Genesis.
