They can be cruel to their prey. But I'm not sure there's evil intent there. Many cats have a hunting instinct but were never properly taught to kill.

On the plus side, that gives their prey a fighting chance. Like the time I went into the living room and found pigeon feathers everywhere, but no pigeon.

They're sacred, beautiful, graceful, loving, soft, warm, doting, take great pleasure in rubbing against you to mark you as "theirs" (I love that my cats all want to mark me as theirs), and small enough to scoop up and snuggle when you're feeling blue. Plus, they lower a pet-owner's blood pressure, do some of the silliest things, and purr when they're content (which in the case of my cats is usually directly linked to their "person" giving them affection).

I've had cats my entire life and literally cannot imagine living without at least one in my household, ever, in my entire life. Having cats is like having arms, or air. Why on earth would you think such wonderful creatures are evil? You should seek therapy for that.

The Black Plague, which was spread by fleas that lived on rats, spread like wildfire because cats, which would have hunted the rats, were killed by the thousands as they were thought to be "evil." It's a good thing that most humans have evolved past such idiocy.

I share a house with 4 cats (one of which is solid black, he's the sweetest one), my house just must be pulsing with pure evil.

I seriously don't see how anyone can find a cat evil. They're so cuddely and soft! Not too mention smart. My can open cuboards and doors with latch handles.

I think cats are nice. They're a lot better than dogs, anyway. I don't see anything really evil about them...although I must admit, immediately after being scratched or bitten by one, it's difficult to harbor any nice feelings towards them. :P

Five cats own me, so I disagree.

People who say they hate cats, believe in the black cat myth and/or would actually harm one are evil.

They're four-legged animals that go 'meow'. What's so 'evil' about that? This is coming from a cat-lover.

it's because of that attitude that millions of people died during the black plague that hit europe. european christians had it in their minds that cats were evil assosiates of witches & killed them on sight. cats that could've kept down the numbers of rats that carried fleas that carried the plague. in islaam cats have a special place because muhammad "sallahu 'alaihi wa salaam" loved cats. and think about this...in north africa in the muslim dominatred areas the black plague never was able to get a foot-hold there even though it was close to plague-ridden europe. my cat yaasameen, died a mth. ago & it was like loosing a child to me & my wife.
