Ps3 games are not region locked but blu-ray video disc's are.

I'm doing it the other way around, play PAL games on NTSC PS3. No problems at all (your TV must support NTSC signal, though, but you said yourself that old PS2 NTSC games run). No problem. Most of PS3 games are region free.

Yes, you can. PS3 games are region free, but PS1/2 games and movies aren't.

Been answered but one thing to add to this, if you wish to play online with the US version of the game against your friends who may own the UK version, you will be unable to play them unless that game uses worldwide servers.
