You have to back up your words with good evidence and sources. Say, somebody tells u god exists but u think he doesnt, to get u to belieive them they would have ot give you proff and good reasons how he really does exist. thats just one example.

Learned this in Sales training class. You can modify this to get people to say what you are saying

1) Listen to there point of view
2) Acknowledge what they've said by paraphrasing it or repeating it back to them
3) Acknowledge that their point of view has merit (VERY IMPORTANT) and you can see how they would think of that or want to do that (spend sometime on this step)
4) Present your opinion in a polite non-conflicting manner and initially without saying they are wrong
5) Take a moment to point out POSITIVE parallels between the 2 separate points
6) If they object, follow steps 2-3 and then politely point out a counter argument
7) repeat step 6 as many times as needed.

Realize this won't work 100% of the time but over all, following this formula, you will have greater sucess then if you just immediately try to argue with someone.

This is basically Communication 101, so it is often times used in a modified fashion in Marriage Counseling sessions.
