My favorite these days is www.fetchdog.com. IMO it is the best dog site from a shopping standpoint, plus there is a ton of great information (including a whole section on puppy) and a bunch of terrific blogs including one written by the actress Glenn Close.

like most of the answer already states go to your local pet shop as they have books with all sorts of gear that they may not have on show but can get it for you . Most modern shops now use computers so ask they will show you they will want your custom. If not then type in on your web site pets supplies and look through all the sites for what you need then book mark it for future reference.

We use many sources for our kennel. You need to be sure that you remember everything your little guy will need.

Food/water dishes
good quality food
vitamins/mineral supplements
pet odor remover (we use SCOE 10X)
dog bed/crate
collar/harness
leash
nail trimmers
brushes
shampoo
ID tags

Most of these items you can find on:

www.petsmart.com

For shampoo, brushes, collars, leashes and other tack items we recommend:

www.petedge.com

www.showdogstore.com

www.brownkennelsupply.com

For the SCOE 10X, you have to go to their website. This product is so strong that it can completely remove skunk odor in twenty minutes, but so gentle you can spray it directly onto your dog (except face) with no ill effects. It runs sbout $15 for a 32oz. spray bottle.

www.scoe10x.com

Thanks for letting me share what works for us. I hope it works for you, and have fun with your new puppy!

you don't have to order on line but i am sure you knew that. 1-800-pet meds has other stuff as well look on their website as they have lots of stuff . I would go to a natural pet food store and get some high quality puppy food. and LOTS OF CHEWS!! tendons, bully's,cow tails, pig ears (no rawhide they have plastic in them) and lots of treat's. If you live in Washington, go to Pets energy they are amazing, that's where i go.

Before ordering from any website, LOOK UP REVIEWS!!! Make sure they are a secure site, make sure people are happy with their orders!

You don't have to order online for the right supplies. Many local pet stores have everything you need. Try PetSmart if there is one where you live. But for online, you can go to petedge.com... they have everything from grooming to living.

Do some Internet searches and googling. But your local stores need your support also. And in person you can see the quality of what you are buying and have it immediately without waiting and paying shipping.

You lab doesn't need a lot of STUFF. He needs, training and love.

For basic supplies (leash, collar, food, etc) you can go to PetSmart or Petco.

If you're looking for higher quality supplies or show equipment, try www.jjdog.com.
