I'm also a DD with a slender frame. I picked out a strapless gown from David's Bridal and it looks wonderful. Definetly get a good strapless/corset type bra for support.
When I tried on dresses, I stayed away from plunging necklines (think deep V lines). It wasn't very appropriate and it's hard to find a bra in a DD cup with a plunging cup.
Halters would also look great on you. When trying on a strapless gown, be sure that the bodice of dress isn't too low so you don't have 'spill-over' up top.
Good luck & happy dress hunting!

Glad you are inquiring before you purchase the dress. Often brides pick a dress they think looks great, then realize afterwards looking at pictures, when the bride is dancing or stomping around, the videos capture the near moment of a wardrobe malfunction! The double D's tend to bounce and don't give the bride justice on how beautiful she really looked standing still. Or when the bride lends or bends forward to accept a hug or kiss from a small child. Again the view is distorted considerably from standing straight and tall in a mirror.
There is a way to cover up a little more with a strapless look and then use the illusion of very fine material or veil type netting for wide off the shoulder straps, or instead of strapless, try a halter type dress. The wide bout neck even
a deep V looks much better than strapless. Nothing is worse that someone who normally does not wear strapless and the entire day is see pulling up their dress from the front, back and sides. Obviously a good bra and perfect alterations is the key. Have you considered a high neck or normal round neck in front and leave the drama to the back of the dress with a long plunging open back. Very sexy and eliminates the possible "pop outs". Try on many, get the advise from the bridal consultants at the bridal shop. Limit the number of people shopping with you to people you can trust with an honest answer. But most importantly, you will know how you feel in the dress! The way you feel and carry yourself in the dress will certainly make you look more radiant.
Enjoy!

I'm the same size and am not having a strapless dress. My grandmother is making my dress. It has short sleeves on it. I'm not really comfortable showing my arms off and just prefer sleeves. There are dresses out there for that. You can even do a google search on plus size wedding gowns. I'm not saying you're plus size, I don't know, but usually they have more options with sleeves or straps than other places that sell wedding gowns. With a bigger chest, you can hold the dress up, but it's harder to find a bra that gives the right support and not everyone is comfortable in a strapless dress. If you're not comfortable or don't feel beautiful in the dress than don't buy it.

I'm a DD and I don't feel comfortable in a strapless at all and I don't feel they are flattering on me even though I have been told by many people that I have the perfect neck and shoulders for strapless dresses. The only way to find out what works for you is to try on different styles and have a friend tell you at the salon which works and which doesn't. The salespeople will tell you that you look great in everything just to make a sale so best not to listen to them for honest opinions.

Take it to a bridal shop. I bought a strapless dress and had the local bridal shop seamstress add a halter strap. It looked great. You couldn't tell it was not part of the original dress. As for the type of strap, make sure it's comfortable (I find the thinner straps cut into my shoulder too much).

I am also DD- I didn't like any strapless dresses, but it was hard to find anything else. In the end, I got a strapless dress that had a beaded jacket with it, and it looked great.
If you do go for strapless, make sure you get it very fitted. There's nothing worse than a strapless dress that stands away from the bride's chest!
Good luck.

My niece got married two years ago, and she's busty, too. She wore a halter style dress, which worked very well for her, so you might try that. It still had the princessy look of a wedding gown, but provided some support (she was able to wear a halter-strap bra with it, which kept the jiggle factor down, and eliminated the fear of "the girls" popping out), and the straps going up around her neck took the emphasis off her bustline. You might also try a sleeveless dress.

I would go with a halter or spagetti straps instead. Whenever I see woman with big breast wearing strapless they always look like there gonna fall out at any moment. I don't mean to hurt your feelings, but woman should look classy on their wedding days. To look classy you need to be in something that looks great on you.

i know what you mean finding a dress to accomidate that figuare is a pain in the butt, I am 32 DD so my dress on top is almost plus sized while my waistline is a size 10 in the wedding dress industry. I actually had to have my dress custom made to accomidate my figuar for a perfect fit.
the company i am using is www.weddingo.net
they have been awesome.
another trick i used is i looked at the plus size bridal models and if they looked good in the cut of the dress i knew it would look ok on me.

sweetie, if you want strapless it will look beautiful on you, just make sure it is well structured so that it contains everything and keeps the 'girls' standing up where they should be. [and as brandon pointed out no one is going to complain!]
if i could make a suggestion look at a strapless empire waisted gown........fitted to just under the breasts and then flows beautifully down the rest of the body! a very feminine style.
i'm not a fan of halter styles to me they are trashy looking. sorry, no offense to anyone, it may be i have no taste! lol
wishing you a wonderful wedding and i am sure you will be a spectacular bride!!
