My 4 year old daughter is sick. Had her at the doctor yesterday- it's the flu and an ear infection. Now that she is on amoxicillin she's starting to feel better and drink a little. What can I do to get her to drink more?

Oh yeah, I'm giving her drinks- she just won't drink them. She says she's not thirsty. How can I "trick" her into drinking?

Have you tried to give her Pedialyte? You can buy it in different flavours and it helps to prevent or treat dehydration.

Try any water based food- Jello, Popsicles, broth. Pedilyte tastes horrible and salty and is NOT recommended unless your daughter is actually diagnosed dehydrated. If she is drinking some, chances are she is OK. Just keep offering.

make your daughter icies out of crushed ice and a little cordial. give her a spoon and let her at it. Also ice blocks are good. I would avoid pedialyte until the docs or pharmasist advises it as it can do the reverse.
Good luck.

do not give her juice, just cut it off completely. Tell her the store ran out. Only water. maybe pedialyte.

pedialyte might work...try it with a funny looking straw...she might drink but no juice or her yet though
