You know...

When a believer in a religion tries to "logically" (giggle giggle) prove that there's actual justification in becoming a part of their belief system.

or

When an atheist has no respect for religion and attempts to make arguments against it without having ever studied or experienced it?

I'm atheist and all but when I disprove a piece of a religion (you can only argue pieces since it is impossible to prove or disprove an entire religion) I at least do a google search and read up on it. Now I fall guilty to being a bigot at times too of course.

But I just wanna try to bring this to light, do any of you fall on either side and which one?

A rather astute statement but you are correct. Both sides seem to get rather upset and extremely defensive of their position. When I was a young Christian I would walk around looking for a good fight (debate) with any one who did not share my views. As a mature Christian it seems to annoy the atheist and agnostics when I refuse to debate with them. I do not have to "prove" my beleif system it is simply a walk by faith. Ask your parents to prove they love you, when one lies down and dies for you then by faith you accept the fact. If you are a true atheist then you have no idea what I am talking about. I wish you well.

I am between sides. I grew up in a Christian household, but I have struggles with some Christian ideas. I also have problems with Christianity and other religions because as far as I know all of them say that they are the way, but none seem to prove it except for by using statements or ideas that only people who practice the religion tend to accept or believe ( for example people who use the Bible to back up things). However, I am still not convinced that God does not exist.

I try to see each side, as you have said you do. I don't think many do that. and yes it is far more bigoted on your side. The good that has been done in the name of Religion is worthless to some compared to the bad. Have there been atrocities in religion, yes, that is undeniable, but man is fallible. Now I would love to know about these pieces of religion that you have disproved, my email is open at anytime.

Yes, I agree with you.

For this reason I think I need to lay off the R&S section - Too much crap to wade through.

Even religious people fight against each-other to PROVE why someone else's religion is wrong! It's insane!

I'm religious/spiritual but I love studying and learning other religions. I enjoy talking to atheists as well, and find them many/most quite logical actually. I love sharing and hearing opinions and like people in general.

But ya extremists are annoying.

Off to the playstation section...

My mood swings are so severe on a monthly basis that my answers reflect my mood. I am no perfect robot. I'm a freak actually. I can't stand the confines of logic or religion. I'm so screwed.
