WOW. Be careful of misinformation in some of these answers.
The flu shot covers three types of influenza virus - - two influenza A and one influenza B types. There is no need to check your weight to get a flu shot. The dose is the same.

Why go to a hospital? I used to get it at my office, but since I retired from medical practice, I simply go to a local drug store or the county health department. Your primary care doctor could give this as well. I've just found it cheaper to use the health department or drug store. Very simple procedure.

I think the flu shot is well worth the minimal risk and expense. I'm healthy and not at risk for death from the flu, but I simply don't want to be sick for 7 to 10 days if it's a bad flu year. Most of us would rather not miss a week of our lives and work being too sick to so anything.

Normally, no. They do not need to check your weight to give you a flu shot unless you're extremely skinny.

They may do so. Off hand, it is a certainty that they will. So far as getting a flu shot is concerned, I wouldn't bother. You only get protection from one strain of the flu. If there is more than one going around and you get the one that you were not vaccinated for, you are out of luck. Better is to take care of yourself, eat properly, exercise, get the right amount of sleep, and keep up your immune system. Those shots are almost worthless.

yes, they always check your weight and put it in your stats. just like they always take your blood pressure. they need to record all of your statistics as a reference to future and past experiences.
