My daughter had been ill over Christmas too and would hardly eat or drink. Just make sure she is drinking enough water and offer her little snacks of toast and soup.
If it doesn't seem to be getting any better and her nappies are really dry for more than 5 days, take her to the doctor.
Don't worry. I know it's difficult and you would do anything to take it away from them but it will pass! If she seems destressed, give her calpol or medised.
Good luck

You should give her comfort foods. Just like the above poster mentioned. Ice cream, jello, water and liquids. Don't force her as long as she is hydrated she is fine. You should take her to the doctors so they can check her out. Think about it when you have a bad cold do you really want to eat no...Just rest and drink most of the time. I hope your little angel feels better. She will be in my prayers peace and blessings dear.

A child won't starve themselves. Offer her healthy foods all the time and she will decide what and how much she eats. If she's sick she might not feel like eating offer plenty of fluids because you don't want her to become dehydrated if she's sick.

I know it is frustrating when toddlers don't eat but as long as you are offering nutrient rich foods through out the day she will be fine. My daughter is the same way and she's 2.5

She has a cold and doesn't feel like eating. Try giving her pedialyte or pediasure to help give her some nutrition. Yogurt is not good to give her if she has a cough, it will give her more mucus. Toast is good, oatmeal, rice, bananas and try juices throughout the day. She will eat when she feels better.

She probably doesn't feel like it - if she has the same vile bug I had, she can't taste it either. My little one virtually lived on cheese the last few days - they will eat when they are ready. Try not to worry - a child will never starve themselves so long as good food is offered. Make sure you keep her fluids up though - probably has a horrid sore dry throat too. Poor little thing.

all my 3 kids have a cough and cold at the moment, ther 4half 3 and 9months,and when their sick they loose their appetites. i wouldnt worry too much, just give plenty of water.
i know its not healthy but if mine dont feel like eating i let them have the things they enjoy like biscuits, at least its something in their tummy's!

i gave mine calcold instead of calpol, its really good and helps them sleep longer,i found that it works better than calpol. i just give mine warm milk when they have a sore throat.my eldest always asks for it when she has sore throat so it must do the trick!

My son is 27 months. He goes through not eating all the time. He will just snack when he wants to. If she's not feeling good she might just not be hungry. Try leaving her food out were she can get to it. Have stuff like finger food she cant make a mess out of it. Kids will eat when they are hungry. If you feel its going on to long i would ask her doctor.

If she is sick her appetite will not be all that good. Think about it, when you are sick do you want to eat? No but you force yourself because you know you need to. Just keep offering it to her. Make sure she drinks enough liquids so she won't dehydrate herself. If it continues take her to the Dr. but this is normal.

Just give her some liquid foods, if she can swallow milk then she be able to swallow liquid foods. Perhaps you could take your daughter to the doctor for a check-up and get proper medicine for her. Hope your daughter gets better soon. Sometimes when kids are ill they are off their food.
