Well according to those who demand that the bible be literally read and interpreted, incest is not wrong. Afterall if all of mankind descended from Adam and Even rather than through evolution, then the children of Adam and Eve populated the earth through incesuous relationships and acts. So according to the fundamentalist logic, incest is no problem according to the bible.
Of course I am not seriously making the argument that incest is fine. Just illustrating how rediculous it is to literally interpret the bible or to use genesis to condemn homosexuality.

'Sin' is relative, and to promote something as wrong because one believes it to be is, i'm starting to believe, completely natural amongst mankind. Fortunately for me I'm open minded, homosexuality isn't a choice, it's just the way a person is born. The same as different people liking different colours, this can't be held as a sin. Of course it can be seen as unnatural judging by the fact that for two women/men to fall in love will not complete the obvious predestined reason for the whole thing in the first place, to procreate. But why can't two people be happy with just living the way they were born? Incest on the other hand can be very wrong considering that very close relatives mating can cause severe problems if a child is produced, physically for one, and also very likely mentally in future life. This is a dangerous thing. If two close family members do fall in love though (which I'm guessing would be extremely rare!) then I believe that it would only be right for them to please themselves as they so choose but not bring another life in to the world as, yes, this would potentially be a great sin. As for incest amongst very distant relatives, there isn't a problem with that. I may sound liberal to you but then I believe this is how we should be with many issues, it's pointless condemning when these circumstances don't really effect yourself or others, just the participants we speak of. Who's business is it really?

in the eyes of God they are the same. same as murder or lieing or stealing or adultery. sin will seperate you from God doesnt matter what it is. its what you do about it that matters. people who dont belive in God or twist up their own ideas about who God is will get offended by this question. im not though.
oh and for mike who posted that incest in the bible is ok. its not. when the world was 1st populated there was no law against brother and sister marrying. how else would the world b populated? when adam n eve fell the world became imperfect. the further the lineage got from adam and eve the further away from perfection it got. so there were mutations in babies and then God gave the law against incest.

I'd say incest (I'm not even sure homosexuality is a "sin"; there are desires that we all have. Unless of course, you compare it to coveting.). At least through a homosexual relationship, you can't produce children of related parents. Furthermore, it is possible that even though some people are homosexual, they may refuse to act on their urges; I'd say many--if not most--dislike having those desires; from what I know, you can't control them. Incest is pretty much voluntary.

While the Scriptures dom say sin is sin, no different degrees, I would think incest is worse, at least in society's eyes.

I truly believe incest... I am not a homosexual however I don't look down on those who are I know that this is a very controversial statement however this is how I feel say what you may but i truly believe those who are homosexuals are people too and just because they choose not to believe in the same things that i do doesn't mean that there beliefs are wrong! However, being incest is just nasty things were not made to stay in the family, plus it is illegal!

That is easy: Incest is the worst of all physical relationships had by man. The unbelievable damage that is done to the victim can't be measured. If there is a god, he has a place to send individuals who do this and I'm sure it isn't a pleasant place by any means.

Neither one is a sin if nobody is getting harmed. One sin is not worse than another anyway, something is either right or wrong.
If there is no harm, there is no sin, and judging other's on the basis of their sexual orientation is evil. Just because you don't do it doesn't mean you have the right to force others who aren't hurting anybody to accept your point of view.

Think of this. If man was created, he was created in many different fashions, mental and physical. People created with either of the above have no choice except to try and control their urges. Some are created with the ability to sing, paint, sculpt. dance, run, pretty, homely, and what we call perverted. In future years man will find ways to rewire the brain to correct and to add to our abilities. Until then we might be mistaken if we, with our present lack of wisdom, to be critical of those not seen as normal.

In my non dogmatic and non religious and non God believing view, neither are a "sin".However, from a medical stance, incest is unhealthy and from a social stance it is wrong and from a psychological stance it is behavior usually stemming from a disorder. In areas where it is traditional to marry within families, that disorder is masked by tradition.
Homosexuality on the other hand, is open to debate. But I see nothing wrong with it in principle.
