It's kind of fun to watch, does ok on hard surfaces (I have tile floors), but not very good on carpet. It's also not for big messes, as the dustpin is very small. I have 2 dogs, so with all the hair, I go around the edges of the room with a shopvac, then let the Roomba finish the job.
It is cool how it bumps into things, backs away and turns. If you run it every other day and don't have major messes, it'll be ok, but it's not a heavy duty vac.

i just got one and love it!
it has sensors all over the sides so as it bumps into something it will turn around and go the other way. also, if it senses more dirt in one area it will stay there longer.
i let it loose in the basement the other day and it completely finished 2 rooms in about 45 min. i have 3 dogs and i've been really impressed so far with its ability to pick up the hair.

yea it works (i have one), but your pets will attack it. It's not really meant for a full clean...but it's cool to turn it on to pick up the small stuff while your out... it's annoying to run while you are home though.
It picks up pet hair very well, which is why I got it originally....my girlfriends cat sheds like crazy.

Great, for about a week. After that, it's just a good toy for my dog.

As a vacuum? Poorly.
If you want a vacuum, buy a Dyson. If you don't want to use it yourself, hire a maid.
