Not necessarily. It depends on the jurisdiction.

When I became a mother at the age of 15 the nurse at the hospital where I gave birth at told me that now I was considered emancipated. My mother and I had a really bad relationship and she hit me all the time. needless to say, when I found out that I was emancipated I was thrilled!!! One day after my mother had once again beat me I decided to leave with my newborn daughter, thinking that i was now emancipated and could no longer be called in as a run away. Boy was I wrong! When the police found me and my daughter I was told that the only way a minor, anyone under the age of 18, could be emancipated is through the court system. So to answer your question, no, childbrith does not guarntee emancipation.

A pregnancy and giving birth to a child does not emancipate a minor regardless of whether she chooses to keep the baby or relinquish the child for adoption.

No, I guess she'd have to take steps to emancipate. There are legal things that would need to be taken care of. You can't expect the government to keep up with what teen girls are and aren't pregnant.

I know in TN once a teenager whose mother receives child support from the teen's father has a baby, the father is no longer responsible for child support.

do you mean emanciated? because they certainly dont "become emancipated" after birth. The exact opposite happens once that rascal comes out. your freedoms become few and far between. emancipation from your parents, maybe, slavery to the child, absolutely.

I don't think so. At least I would jolly well hope NOT. Just because a young girl births a baby doesn't mean she suddenly becomes MATURE enough to have the responsibilities of an adult. All it really makes her is a child with a child!

uhh not in the state of ohio. you have to apply for that here. go to court and state your case to a judge who will then decied if its right or not for you. id hope not though. id like to think most parents would like to help support their pregnant teen in whatever way they can. it is their grandbaby.

also you might be thinking that alot of teens move in with their older boyfriends. well thats by parents consent nothign else. and for them to marry the babys father that also has to be by the parents consent. if a 14 year old wanted to marry her boyfriend the parents would have to okay it. even if the two kids wanted to. she is still their child and they are still responsible for her and her actions. but if she does marry the guy then she is considered his responsibility if she is underage and hes older.

I've heard this too. Once you become a mother you are an adult and your parents no longer hold anything over you. I think it is stupid, because so many young girls become moms and arent mature enough to be moms yet, let alone emancipated.

No, getting pregnant and giving birth does not emancipate you at any age.

for some reason i think you are only emancipated while you are pregnant, but after you have the baby you are not anymore... but i am not for sure... that is in FL
