All men fall short of being "moral" because of their sins whether they are Christians, some other religion, or other state of non-belief.

While non-believers can say that they are "good" this is only because all they have to use as a measuring stick is their peers. (who are also sinful). God makes the perfect measuring stick for sin, because He is perfect.

Without God's Law, and without Jesus' sinless example, we would all be ignorant of our sins.

No one in this world will gain entrance to Heaven on their own works. It is only through Gods gift of Grace, in the sacrifice of His son.

However, faith without works is dead, and all humans should strive to have high "morals", and follow the example Jesus Christ set for us when He was flesh.

God Bless You.

I'm not sure we are moral. Jesus said that only God was good and I equate good with moral.

The way atheists define moral, everyone is moral because it's like me making up the rules to a game, retaining the authority to change the rules and being my own judge. Under those circumstances, only a fool can fail to be good which is why even criminals plotting their next crime think themselves to be basically good. Without a higher moral authority than ourselves, we simply do what we feel like doing (including feelings of conscience) and then self-justify our behavior.

The Christian recognizes that God is the higher moral authority to Whom we have an obligation to respect. But then we so often find ourselves unwilling to obey.

I suspect that you wanted to hear about fear of hell and desire for heaven, but that isn't the case. Heaven is just a place for those who want to be with God; hell is just a place for those who want their independence from God.

well, the bible says morals are determined by those in power

currently christians are somewhat in the majority, except the muslims have taken that but we ignore this

we believe that might makes right so our leaders define morality for us, and we unquestioningly take it at face value due to scriptures that say we can't challenge self appointed leaders

I personally think ethics is the way to go, but morals take the cake for our church

we must follow commands and ignore common sense or cases that fall into "love your neighbor" because that would make our behavior, immoral and unjust

so, we just do what we always do and pick and choose what we feel is right and ignore explanation of why it might be a fallacy

Who says anyone is moral? Despite that I claim to have morals I've done immoral things.
