Do animals have souls? If not, why not? If an animal does have a soul, what happens to it when the animal dies? How do you know you have one? Can you show it to me?

Some people believe in souls, some people don't. I'm not religious, but I think everyone has one, including animals. Human beings are animals too, if you look at it scientifically. We're not special or anything. What happens to the soul after death? I doubt anyone who's alive knows. There's no proof that shows souls exist - it's all faith. You can't see air or cut it in half or grab it. But we know air exists and we can probably zoom in on it with a powerful microscope or something. If souls do exist, maybe we just can't see them because our technology isn't advanced enough? Maybe the soul is made up of a different physical matter that we have not discovered yet. There are so many theories and ideas on this I could go on and on. To be honest, I doubt science can or will ever prove the existence of souls (if they do exist) - its all a matter of faith if you really believe they exist.

I will relate to you what my personal beliefs are.
I believe we are our souls. When we die we leave our physical bodies behind and "we" the essence of who we are go on. Right now our soul is who we are, now. We live in a physical body.
As for animals. Of course animals have souls. I have always had animals around me and their unconditional love, their patience, their acceptance etc . etc. shows us that are spiritual beings.
Can I show you my soul? No, but I can tell you how to feel it.
Give of yourself. Love others, do not criticize, do not judge, be peaceful, be forgiving, do not be prejudiced towards anyone for any reason. Give unconditional love to those who are make sad choices. Realize that we have free will and we can choose either to live a positive, loving life or a negative, fearful life. Live this way, and I guarantee you will feel who you are, you will feel your soul. You will be happy and peaceful and you will look at life in a different way, from your spiritual self instead of your human self.

You are a soul. A unit of awareness. Yes, animals are also souls. When an animal dies, s/he reincarnates back to the physical plane. Eventually into a human body.
Soul is spirit, not physical. So no, I can't show it to you.

Gen 2:7; "And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life and man became a living soul." So, there you have it; the formula for a soul; dirt + the breath of life = one living soul. The Bible uses both the word soul and breath interchangeably, they both mean the living body, man or animal.

The body is a complex computer connected to a brilliant robotic mechanism. Your soul is the "software" that makes you a living being. Animals have this software, but in a simpler (yet effective) form.
Your spirit is another matter. The spirit is like the wifi connection to the eternal (only available on human hardware). We are all born with the wifi set to OFF by default. Accepting Christ as Lord and Savior sets this toggle to the ON position.
Sin is a virus that has infected the current operating system. It is a worm that eats away at the software and causes all sorts of operational anomalies and insecurities. Accepting Christ as Lord and Savior renders this virus inert.
I cannot show you the software that I am using on my current computer. It resides and is embedded in the hardware. However, you know that it is operational because I am online and typing this. Yours is present and operational because my post is appearing on your monitor. Your comprehension of my analogy proves your soul is present and operational.
Prayers seem one sided and unheard because the wifi is not in current operation via the spirit.

A soul is the life force within you that lives eternally after you die. Our souls are in our body right now. Only humans have souls. No, I can't prove it or show it. It' all about faith.
