I supose. I'm a Christian in the sence that I believe that Jesus died for my sins and I pray through him

There's just spo much that we don't know about ghosts and the undead. I think it has to do with Mankinds facination with death. It's a mind-bogling thing to think about really. There's so much conjecture and rhetoric that flies around concerning death that I think that the "truth" is almost like an enigma.

A lot of people have sworn that they have seen ghosts. But if you take away the people that were on drugs, had bad vision, saw an actuial person, or were just plain looking for something that was not there, you're not left with a lot.

That is not to say however that there is no such thing as ghosts. There's a saying that goes,"just becasuse you're paranoid, dosen't mean that there not after you.". I think the same can be said about "ghosts". Just because there's so much sinicism about it does not mean that they don't exsist.

A parallel can be made between ghosts and Jesus. There are words and stories claiming that each is true. There are people from both sides that will swear up and down that it's true. Also, each requires a key element in order to believe in them. Faith.

It is a pretty cool thing to think about though. That's why I think there are so many sceptics. A lot of people think that if it's fun, it's nonsence. I don't think that's always true.
Skiing is fun and can be a pretty nonsencincal thing to do. In the same token, skiing was developed out of nesecity thousands of years ago in order for native peoples to travel. It's a great mode of excersise.
Jeese. I got on a roll there. Well, good question. I can only pretend to know what I'm talking about.

Oh wait...Aliens. I forgot about the aliens.

Yeah, I suppose there could be aliens. There's no reason people should believe or disbelive it.
Personally, I have never had an encounter like I thought I had with spirits.

Unfortunatally, you humans will never understand the complexity of the universe for you will all fall on December 21, 2012.=)

JK.

I'm a Christian, and I believe that there are certainly life forms on other planets.

However, given the enormous effort required to traverse the incredible distances between solar systems, I think it is unlikely any alien life form has ever visited Earth. Since it is not possible to travel faster than the speed of light, aliens even of our immediate neighborhood would have to travel for an entire generation just to get here - for instance, the fictional Vulcans from Star Trek, who are from what in real life is known as Epsilon Eridani, would have to travel ten years here, and ten years back, and that's at the speed of light, which is near impossible to reach! While at a near-light trip, they would only experience a few days, it would still be an enormous sacrifice - if they had human-like lifespans, their infant children would be adults, and any spouse-like mate would be a generation older when they returned.

From farther afield, aliens would return to a world where everything and everyone they knew was gone. What sentient being would do this? I would imagine most intelligences in the universe try to communicate and explore using much simpler measures of the kind we use - such as unmanned probes, radio telescopes and orbiting observatories.

As to ghosts, I have not seen any reason to believe in them. There is no convincing evidence that I know of for the existence of ghosts.

This all depends on what Christian denomination you ask. The Roman Catholic Church believes in saints and as a result, some members tend to believe they can also contact their loved ones, or say prayers to them ("Grandma is watching over me"). Since protestant churches (Lutheran, Presbyterian, Methodist, etc) came from Rome originally, this same belief in dead relatives watching over us is still practiced. Either way, there is not an official church position on dead relatives or their ability to contact the living.

However, there are official positions on where the dead go when they die and what the nature of the human soul is like.
Regarding where you go once you die, some believe you go on to the afterlife (heaven or hell) immediately upon death. Once there, you live forever. This group of people believe that the human soul is indestructible and cannot die--well, it can "die," but their idea of death is a purely metaphorical one, since the soul essentially lives forever to enjoy heaven, or lives forever to be tortured in hell.

The second group believe in something called "soul sleep," a controversial doctrine. When you die, you are dead and do not experience thought. This idea posits that the human soul is like light produced from a light bulb. The body is the filament, and the electricity is what goes through that body. The soul is the light that exists when the two are combined. When there is no more electricity (the person dies), then the light does not exist. Where does the soul go? The soul does not exist at that time.
These people believe that upon the Resurrection at the Second Coming (when Jesus Christ returns), those who followed Christ will return to life (their bodies (the filament) will be recreated, and the life force (electricity) will be resupplied). Those condemned will also be resurrected, they will hear their verdict (guilty), and then be extinguished in the fires of hell which is called the second death. They die since their soul is not indestructible.

Of course, everything I've told you is what officially some Christian groups believe happens when they die. This does not account for ghosts, of which the bible is silent. The closest reference there is to a ghost is when the Witch of Endor summons the spirit of Samuel (1 Samuel 28), but if you read the full story, it turns out the Witch summoned a lying demon, and not the ghost of Samuel.
Also, in Matthew 14:25-29 the disciples think Jesus is a ghost when he is walking on the water, but that only proves that the disciples believed in ghosts, not that it is biblical doctrine.
The belief in ghosts who go about manipulating the lives of living people is not a traditionally Christian belief, but one that has made its way into Christianity through superstitions and comingling with pagan mystery religions.

As far as aliens are concerned, that I believe is a personal choice, but I personally do not believe in ghosts or aliens and believe that it is demons seeking to deceive people and merely posing as aliens or dead loved ones. So if you see your dead Grandma talking to you, I say watch out, because it is probably some Satanic fallen angel after your soul.

I don't believe there are ghosts that travel around this world. I believe that people experiencing poltergeist type scenarios are experiencing demonic activity. I think too many people write this off as being mysterious "ghosts" rather than recognizing that there is spiritual warfare going on all around us. As far as aliens go, I belive God created a whole universe out there, and we are clearly not physically designed to inhabit it. There must be some creatures out there who can live in those hostile environments. So... yes, I believe in aliens.

Yes. Ghosts and aliens.

Each Christian is free to decide this for themselves, so you'll get a ton of different answers. As for me, I think God allows some souls to communicate with people still in the body, but don't know why, how, etc. Alien life surely exists somewhere in this huge, wondrous universe.

Some do, but many believe, as I do, that it is demons impersonating people who have died or aliens to lead people away from God. (Scripture tells us not to practice necromancy --- that is, speaking with the dead. While aliens are never addressed, and there's certainly nothing wrong with talking to them, the 'messages' they give people certainly contradict what God has to say about reality, and I think it's obvious that some people have made aliens and UFOs almost a religion).
