If it's an unaltered male, he's likely marking. Neutering him, and some training, will help to curb the behavior.

If the dog is male then he might be doing this to mark territory or if the other people have pets your dog might be doing it to cover the other pets smell. Next time you go to someone else house just watch your dog really carefully like you did before he was potty trained and if he looks like he is going to go take him outside. All dogs are trainable so just work on it with him.

he could be nervous.. or it could be he's just saying "I was here".. its a new place and he wants to leave his mark.
My boy is neutered.. he is well behaved in most homes. I have a freind tho who has quite a few dogs, including a few intact males. Everytime we visit, Fred wants to mark in their home. He has to wear a belly band there.
Make sure he pees outside before bringing him inside the home you are visititng. I have made that a habit with Fred. He knows he has to pee before he's allowed in the house.
I also make it a point to take him out more frequently when we are visiting, so he doesnt feel the need to potty in the home.

He's is marking their home as his own. Have him neutered and he will have less of a desire to do this, plus he will live a longer, healthier life and he will not be fathering unwated puppies.. And be sure he knows you are the alpha leader. He will mark as long as you allow him to be the pack leader.

Your dog does that because he is use to your house, and he knows that he is suppost to go outside or where ever you tell him to go. But in other peoples houses he is not use to them or their houses so he is marking his territority and does not really know how to tell them he wants to go outside or does not know where the door is at.
