I'm not a doctor, but.... Just because everything was okay in the hospital does not mean that no problem exists; it simply means that the tests they ran did not show any need for concern at the time. Heartburn sounds like a very reasonable cause when everything else has been ruled out, and they should have recommended a treatment for that. If the problem persists for more than a couple days or worsens after treatment she should seek medical attention. Regardless, it's a good idea for her to stay in contact with her family physician and to keep follow up appointments. Good luck.

Hows your health otherwise? Dont want to be too personal, but are you overweight at all? I get something a little similar where it feels like I have a permanent "dead arm" sometimes and it will last all day sometimes. Im about 10-15 lbs overweight and 23 years old...my diet could be healthier. I often wonder if I should go to the Dr and check it out. Sorry I didnt really provide any kind of answer, but I wish you luck

I'm no medical expert, but it sounds like it could possibly be anxiety. I have it pretty bad, and a panic attack can cause all sorts of symptoms. I went to the ER twice thinking I was having a heart attack.

Check out anxiety on yahoo health or web md and look at the symptoms.

I would check with your doctor and see if this is a possible cause.

I'd get a MRI, and ask your doctor about a stress test. It's very common for someone in there 20 to have heart problems but many younger people have had heart attacks. That or find one or two more doctors and get more opinions.

If this has been going on for a year maybe you are experiencing panic attacks. Do you have anything stressing you out? You shold see a doctor.

maybe you have pneumothorax (air in the pleural cavity) or there is something wrong with your intercostal nerves.
or somehow air gets into your chest making pressure to your heart or lungs.
you may also have pericarditis (an inflamation of the pericardium), or have water in it (hydropericarditis).
you may suffer of angina pectoris (characterized by chest pain due to a temporary lack of oxygen-rich blood to the heart)
maybe you have ulcer of the stomach fundus cause the fundus is high situated in the body, like that :

there are many possibilities...can't think of them all now

Well, I would take a pinch of cayenne pepper in a glass of water daily, wait a few days and see what the improvement is. If it persists after that, go see a doc.

Try Alka Seltzer in 4-ounces of water, and use it to flush down two regular Tums that you chewed up fully . . . That should do it .
