OK AM LOOSING MY NUT WITH THE PS3 I NEED HELP PEOPLE EVERYTIME I PLAY A MOVIE U CAN HERE THE SOUNDS IN THE BACKGROUND BUT YOU CANT HEAR THE PEOPLE TALK CONNECTING IT THRO HDMI CABLE TRIED MUCKING ABOUT WITH THE SETTINGS MY TV IS HD PLZ HELP

mate ive tried that and it still didnt help what else could it be? any other ideas people

Most likely - It's in surround mode (like 5.1), but you don't have a 5.1 stereo system.

Change it to 2 channel stereo in the audio settings on the PS3 and you should be good.

It's splitting the sound into speakers you don't have! (the speakers that would have the voice is typically the center channel)


And ya - lay off the caps.

Edit:
Settings, Sound Settings, Audio Output Settings...
Then select HDMI
Then 2 Ch
(make sure the 5.1's and the AAC, etc are not checked.)
Linear PCM 2 Ch is really what you want for just a TV (no sound system)
