I am an identical twin. Often, the hardest part of being a twin is getting your own identity.
I would say you are having problems getting your own friends. You need to meet another girl who has the same interests and hang out with her, even if she's not the kind of girl your brother approves of. There's no written rule that says you have to live by the social pressure of your brother's success.
That being said, don't lose communication with your brother as you step out. He's still your best friend #1.

Being 14 yrs old, this is nothing to worry about, really. Everyone wants to be popular - some are, some aren't. Let it go and focus on your own stuff. Ok, so he's athletic & you're not. You don't have to be. Over the next couple of years, this will change. Do you have any friends that like you for "you" rather than because you are "his" sister? If so, hang with them & do stuff. Ignore his popularity and focus on yourself.
Treat questions like "are you so-and-so's sister?" as if they were unimportant - just answer with a simple "yes - my name is xxxxx"
Good luck. Just remember that you are every bit as special as he is - it's only in a different way.

Being popular isn't always good, He'll find that out soon enough. If you have afew good friends that should be enough. Me and three other people would hang out allll the time. we could tell each other everything, i trusted them with my life. Waaay better then being surrounded by people who don't really like you for who you are, right?
And if you really want to get popular..Just hang out with him i guess..And..Join some teams, But be careful.. If you become popular you may lose some very good friends and regret it

Just let him be him. Don't strive for attention. If he wants to be in the spotlight, then you do something in the background. Sure, popularity does have it's perks, but you are you, and he is he. If he is the popular one, you get to be the one with the air of mystery. If people ask you what it feels like to be his sister, you tell them that it doesn't affect you. Don't give them leway and don't give them you.

Idk. You could ask him about it, and see what he says, like you could also act more like him. Idk. I have one brother and he is older than me, and I dont really talk to him bc hes neverhome when i am and all that stuff. i miss him tho, but anyways back to the point, just be yourself, the other people don't know what they are missing out on.
