I have a responsibility to tell people about Christ. . they have the choice to make for themselves.

I have to tell you smoking will kill you. You have to decide to stop on your own.

Godspeed.

My responsibility is to live--choices, actions, and words--in a way that bears witness (shows) the transforming love and grace of Christ. It is the Holy Spirit who converts the soul, not another human being. I would not feel guilty if I had lived an authentic Christian life in front of the person and they rejected it. BUT, if my actions and words had turned them away from Christ, I would feel very guilty.

Ofcoarse, and The Lord would ask me at the final judgement why I didnt do what i knew i should have. All A christian can do is speak with the person, and thats it, we can only give them a point in the right direction and hope and pray that they take it and run with it.
Here, check out this video, it matches this question so well, its a very good vocal production. My church put on a show with this recently, it got quite a few minds going...but let me tell you, this is a scary skit. and also, it is not meant as a scare tactic, it is just a point in the right direction

Conversion (conviction, repentance, etc.) is really the job of the Spirit. For our benefit, He allows us to "help". (kind of like letting a 2 year old help fold the clothes.) We must be willing to say a word in season. If we weren't willing to say a good word about the Savior, that would indicate we didn't accept Him as Savior and Master.

Ezekiel 3: 17-19 "Son of man, I've made you a watchman for the family of Israel. Whenever you hear me say something, warn them for me. If I say to the wicked, 'You are going to die,' and you don't sound the alarm warning them that it's a matter of life or death, they will die and it will be your fault. I'll hold you responsible. But if you warn the wicked and they keep right on sinning anyway, they'll most certainly die for their sin, but you won't die. You'll have saved your life.

My Christian friends do not try to convert me, and I do not make any attempt to convert them. We don't waste precious time and energy doing that. I admire and respect their devotion to their beliefs, and they do the same for me.

Yes I'm accountable for being selfish !

Whether they accept it or not it's my responsibility to tell them the Good News .

The responsibility is to yourself.
What someone else believes is their responsibility.
Imposing your beliefs on another is not right.
If another were to ask of your beliefs then that's when you can fill their head with what YOU believe.

my last friend who tried to convert me, i put on the back burner for quite a while. he'd try to talk to me (debate me) nearly every time we saw each other. id tell him stuff, and he'd storm off and go read his bible and come back later and continue on. it got old after a while.

i find it rude and disrespectful. i dont go out of my way to make him believe what i believe. i ignored him for a good 6+ months.

i still rarely talk to him. (so if it costs your friendship, is it worth it?)

my other friends who are christian, have offered me to go to church with them. and every once in a while i will accept more out of respect. but they never try to shove it down my throat. they accept my beliefs and i respect theirs.

It is your duty to respect the right of others not to be bothered with fairy stories. You wouldn't expect them to try to convince you that you were wrong, would you?

It is our duty as Christians to be a good witness to our friends and family. If you don't witness to a friend and they die not knowing Christ as their saviour, their blood will be on your hands at the day of judgement. Live your life as an example of Christ and show them the love that dwells in you.
