I have had the flu for the past 5 days, but it is getting better. Today I was blowing my nose like usual and this object came out of my nose. Should I be concerned?

It is just a blood clot to stop any bleeding and help the healing. Don't pick it let it heal, or it might start bleeding.
The nasal passages were irritate. Or it is a bloody booger.
Just leave it alone and it will be fine, get well soon.===

RE:
When blowing my nose, something bloody that looked like a cranberry came out. What could this possibly be?

For whatever reason, bloody discharge seems to happen when an illness is clearing. It should go away in a few days. This just happened to me recently and after several days of yuck, I was fine. Unless you have other symptoms like a severe headache or fever which might indicate you are getting an infection, I wouldn't worry too much about it.

It is probably just some bloody phlegm or it could possibly be a blood clot that formed after blowing your nose so much over the last week. I wouldn't worry about it unless it continues to happen after the flu is gone.

Probably not - sounds like a blood clot - you probably broke a blood vessel blowing your nose or sneezing real hard

If your nose continues to bleed, use a cold compress on your nose to help stop the bleeding.l

It was a bloody booger. No big deal, just from a broken blood vessel probably from blowing too hard or taking decongestants.

If you have had sinus problems before you might be growing some "nodules" in your sinuses. They are red and sort of spongy looking. Sometimes you can blow them out (like u did) or if they are real bad you can go to the Dr. and they can do a scraping of your sinuses to get them out. (I have never been that brave) Don't worry about them. They come and go. Happy New Year.

No, its just a little clot, because your brain is trying to come out through your nose. Just KIDDING lol.

It happens every once in a while to most people, and you should only be concerned if it happens a lot.

It sounds like your sinus cavity is dry. You can buy a saline solution from about any store that will help with the dryness and bleeding. I would not worry about it unless the problem becomes worse.
