I'm working at a part time job and my boss usually has me work on friday- sunday. but lately its been scattered. and i called her 3 times adn all the times she was gone and i told the guys there to tell her to call me so i know when to work! and we usually have a calendar up with our names on it but she hasn't had it filled out yet! and i usually work tonight adn i called not there. and she doesn't get to work till about 4 and i usually have to be to work by 5:30 and i'm at my dads house and it takes me about and hour and a half to get to where i work and get ready and stuff. so...what the hell should i do?! go into work no questions asked or should i not go in because she never called me? my friend she's an irresponsible employer...who agrees? please help. thanks.

Go to work. If you are used to a set schedule and are usually there on Friday at 5:30 be there. But you said with things being scattered lately I guess it is up to you. You did leave several me sages that should CYA if you don't go in.
If you do go in and your boss questions your presence tell her that you thought maybe her not posting the schedule as usual was due to the rushing around we all tend to do at the holidays. Because it couldn't possibly be because she was irresponsible or inconsiderate. Just teasing - leave out that last part ;)

You've done everything possible to ensure you were on the schedule.
Unless you need the money, I would stay home. She should have returned your call by now.
If she can't make out the schedule at least 3 weeks in advance, then she needs to get an assistant to help her with the work load.

You may want to find another job. As for tonight, I would call about 4p and ask about it. If you don't get an answer or your boss isn't there, then if you want to work, go on in. If the boss then tells you that you weren't scheduled to work, and to go home, tell her that you want 4 hrs pay for reporting to work. If she won't pay you for the time worked, you can call the wage and hour department with your states human resources department.
They may be trying to lay you off, or get rid of you and they don't want to pay the unemployment compensation for you.
Bottom line, I would be looking for another job.
good luck.

Call around the time she should be there. Find out if she wants you to work.
If she does, tell her you'll be in but a little late since she never got back with you on if you were to work tonight or not.
Then go in, and have a chat.

I wouldnt go in. That's inconsiderate of her not to let you know. Try to leave a message on her answering machine stating that you've tried to call several times to no avail that way your not depending on your coworkers to let her know you've called. It may be better just to call at 4 when she gets there to let her know you've tried to call many times and if she wants you to come in she'll have to let you come in later considering your an hour and a half away.

I agree with Hedda...she is irresponsible and careless. Why not keep the job for now and look for a better one with a better boss closer to your house?
There is no way she should leave the schedules to the last minute. VERY unprofessional.

I would go in,so they will have no reason to complain. In your off time start looking for a better job,or even apply for manager yourself.Who knows a new opportunity may have just jumped in in your face.Be brave you may like it.

If you're not on the schedule, stay home. She has had more than ample time to schedule you for this time. She's either busy, or she needs a tractor to pull her head out of her butt.

Your boss is rude and inconsiderate. The schedule should be made out well in advance. Don't go in.
