They all have different views.

They all think theirs is right?

You're should try atheism out. Then you don't have to worry about it.

Well the difference between Protestants and Catholics is that Catholics believe that you could get saved by going to church. While Protestants believe that the only way to heaven is through Jesus Christ. Pentecostals are different from the other groups because they speak in tongues. Baptists believe that the only people that spoke in tongues ate the apostles. Anyway what makes them different is that they all have different ways of interpreting the Bible. They do all believe this the same way: that Jesus is the son of God. You have to ask yourself what you believe that is the only way to find out what "you are."I am proud to say that I am a Pentecostal.

Well, here are a few things that make Catholic Christians what they are:

belief in the trinity - Father Son and Holy Spirit
Intercession of the saints - We pray for their help
Mary, the mother of God, was born without sin
The pope is infallable ex catherdra ONLY - as in when he sits in THE chair
We have a orderly hiearchy from the pope down - beginning with Peter as the rock of the church
And the bible is mere a guide to life, not an absolute law

The difference in most of them is just some small differences in theology. This was caused by man and not God. He wants us to all be one in Christ Jesus.
As long as you go where they believe that Jesus is the son of God ,God in the flesh, born by the virgin Mary, Died for our sins, and arose on the third day--- then you will be fine .
Do some church hopping.
Wait in the parking lot , to see how many people are caring there own Bibles--- this will show you with churches are Spirit filled before you even enter.
And make sure they worship on Sunday!!!
May the Lord be with you and keep you.
Amen.

There are differences in their doctrines, but most of them are subtle. The most telling thing for me about them is to see how they view the others. Fundamentalist Christians absolutely HATE catholics, for example, whereas a Lutheran sees a catholic as a fellow brother or sister in Christ. If I were still a Christian I'd probably align myself with a more tolerant and humble one, and stay away from the lunatic fringe who are so judgemental and hateful. Since becoming a deist I've realized I'm in a good place.

Comparative religions would take days. Consider each belief, and all possible answers, then figure the permutations. Most consider Sunday special, yet Scriptures say Saturday (the Seventh day) is special. Many "Christians" believe in sprinkling to Baptize, but Scripture said "they went down into the water...." Most Christians are fine with eating pig, but Scripture says not to. I have left all denominations for none follow scripture. Make your own chart, and discuss it with various pastors to decide where you want to be. I choose scripture.

Leave out the Catholics, they are in a class by themselves. The others worship in different ways, some take the bible more literally. A few think that certain things have changed and are no longer relevant now. The bible doesn't say anything has changed, in fact the bible says God changes not.

There is no way to answer every little minute difference.
Briefly here are some of the beliefs/doctrines. But there are more nuances to each of these.
In order to see which one you most identify with requires visiting each one to see where God wants you to be.

****
Lutheran - split from Roman Catholic church, follows teachings of Martin Luther, differs from Catholics in idea about "justification" before God. Protestant. believe in trinity, baptism of infants and adults, saved by grace

Catholic - Trinity, sprinkle baptism, baptize babies, communion, intercession, saints, priests, nuns, & more....; governed by Rome. No female priests allowed. Priest's don't get married.

Baptist - Trinity, Full emersion Baptism for those of the age of accountability (not babies) babies go to heaven no matter what, independent churches (each one governs itself) No female reverends, deacons, elders, etc... allowed. Preachers can be formally trained or can be "called" to preach. Saved by grace

Methodist - Trinity, sprinkle Baptism, all churches belong to the Methodist group (not independent churches), saved by grace

Presbyterian - Trinity, sprinkle baptism for babies also, will do full emersion if requested, governed by Presbytery, set up a lot like our US government, allows female decons, elders and reverands. Believe in predestination. Saved by grace. No pictures of Jesus

Evangelicals - Take the message out to everyone, trinity, baptism, belief in reform such as no drinking, etc...saved by grace

Pentecostals - a type of evangelical, very exuberant, follow what happened on the day of pentecost, baptized in the Holy spirit, trinity, baptism, saved by grace.

Mormon - Doesn't believe in Trinity -- believes 3 separate people "a Godhead" ; full emersion baptism; laying on of hands; confering the holy spirit from a worthy preisthood holder; ; additional scriptures besides the Bible; Kalob, Jesus/Satan brothers; spirit children, Celestial kingdom, Telestial Kingdom, Terrestrial Kingdom, spirit prison, spirit paradise, plan of salvation, Living Prophet; apostasy.

Unitarian - believes in Unity, not the Trinity in that they believe there is one god, one son, one holy ghost but they are separate individuals that compile the godhead

BHP,
I read, study, and obey GOD'S WORD. There are others out there who have done so without an earthly name to their religious house. I choose not to be in one of those because man's creeds are separate from GOD'S WORD which is found in the BIBLE. Have a great week.
Thanks,
Eds (Non-Denominational Christian)

well most of the protestants are one with the catholic church and just look as if they are separated, they all worship on sunday and they say the apostles creed which mentions one key part:

" I believe in the Holy Spirit,
the holy catholic Church,
the communion of saints, etc... "

This shows that the catholic church is the mother church of them.
the only exception in the protestant religions is the seventh day adventist church who are the only ones that worship on saturday and oppose the other christian religions.
