i just bought my bass and an amp and it just came in the mail. im trying to hook up the bass to the amp so the sound comes out of the amp right... but i dont know how. i got the chord hooked from the bass into the amp... and the amp is plugged into the wall... the powers on, and ive messed with the volume controls... what am i doing wrong. The amp is a CRATE BT50

There may be a battery needed in the pickup.
Look for a battery slot, it will have screws holding it in.
