I bought myself an HD TV in the sales and im blown away at the picture quality at 720p even the quality at 480p is really nice.

Is 1480 x 900 a good resolution for a tv,will i be able to get 1080p with this resolution?

No.

Your t.v must be have a resolution of 1920x1080 to display 1080p/1080i.....TRUE HD.
720p is the best resolution you can get with that t.v.

At the moment there are no transmission at 1080p resolution, and nor will there be for quiet a while, so you are getting the best picture that is possible right now.
