Just mail her a happy anniversary card (include her and her husband's names). That is good enough.
However, ff you are attending the party, then a gift is usually expected.

You are never obligated to send or bring a gift anywhere. You bring or send a gift because you care about someone and want to give them a gift.
So - if you want to send a gift, then go ahead! But if you don't want to send anything, then don't - although it is a nice gesture to send a card to acknowledge the amazing accomplishment of staying married for 50 years!
