it took a lot of meetings to get the Korean conflict over with. You asked about the Korean war, there was never a war, it was just a conflict. There were more MIAs in Korea than nam but there was never as big an issue made of it

Actually MacArthur wanted to drop nukes in Korea as well, but Eisenhower wouldn't let him.
In Korea, the US, UN and S. Korean forces fought the Russian and Chinese backed North Korean forces to a stalemate. They just decided to sign a cease fire agreement. The War did not officially ever end.
In Viet Nam, President Nixon decided to simply pull US forces out and let the S. Vietnamese forces fight on their own. Without US support the S. Viet Namese were quickly defeated and the communists took control.

Just like the Politicians that stopped General Swartzkoff in the early 90's... had they let him "finish" the job in Iraq the first-time... we wouldn't be in the mess in the Middle East that "we" are in today... Politicians...........

The US tired of these wars- we were losing due to politics not because of the arm forces. When ever we enter a war we should hit hard and kick butt.
