There is nothing wrong with having your doctor phone the results to you, provided, of course, that he knows your phone number, and asks pertinent identity questions if you should call (i.e., he/she shouldn't give out info to anyone who calls without verifying that it's you!). But, consider that, if it's bad news, you might not want to be alone, so, at the very least, contact your parents, trusted friend, boyfriend, husband, whatever.

My experience with that is 2 for 2 doing it on the phone. FIrst was the doctor calling me at work saying "The radiologist is pretty sure it's breast cancer." Knocked me on my butt, it was NOT the call I was expecting. She's an oaf for doing it that way.
Second call from a different nurse, whose first question was "Are you in a place where you can talk?" Bless her sensitivity. I got to a place where I had some privacy.
You have to let the doctor know that it's ok to contact you by phone, he may be "old school" and want to discuss things face to face.

Don't panic yet. Go to your appointment. I had this happen to me.
It may be as simple as a slight treatment and he wants you to come in for it.
Here's my story:
I had a menstral for almost 7 months. Very few days off of it in fact. I went in for the test blah, blah. I got a phone call telling me I needed to come in. I asked for the info over the phone and they wouldn't give it to me either. (actually I don't think they can it needs to be the doc, or prefferably to anwser questions) I persisted a bit and she said I needed to come in for treatment. I asked if I could have it called in to a pharmacy? She said no.
Finally I went in. I still didn't know what was going on. I ws sent into a room that had a big machine and some bottles of stuff sitting around......I was very suspicious by now....and nerveous what was about to happen.
I ended up having displasia. It isn't cancer.....yet. Its the first stages of cancer. Its where the abnormals cells begin to grow. I was told it would have been maybe 5-7 more yrs before I developed a tumor. I had lazor treatment done on my cervix and it hasn't been back since. Its been 20 yrs.
You may have something simple that still needs treated. Don't ignore it or put it off maybe its something they caught very early and your lucky to have a minimal treatment as I was. If its more you still need to know and get it treated as soon as possible.
Just know that just because they call you in doesn't mean the worst. It may only mean you need a simple proceedure. Good Luck and be brave and take your tush to that app. Do it now so you don't regret it later. Look at all the faces of loved ones around you. They are counting on you!

i think he will not give the results over the phone, because of the ethic law and the privacy of patients. But you should call anyway maybe you have good luck.
don't be nervous, everything is going to be all Right.
