i dont know if i spelled that right but what exactually is glacoma my eye dr said im borderline for it and i was wondering what it does to your vision

i am Blind im my right eye(i was born like that) and that is the one that is boarderline for it my pressure was 27

It is a progressive disease that destroys parts of the optic nerve, starting at the outer edges of your field of view. It is treatable by eye-drops and sometimes by surgery.

Even though there are no obvious symptoms (unless your field of view is checked), if untreated your vision is lost. Although it is caused by elevated pressure in your eyeball, there is no specific number that counts as elevated. What make be OK for one person is not for another. That means that simple checks of pressure are not always going to be warnings.

Glaucoma is a very serious eye disease that results in blindness. It causes the pressure in the eye to become way too high. It usually strikes older people. But, my sister had it a long time ago when she was 18. Her doctor misdiagnosed it, and she went blind in one eye. But, your doctor seems more knowledgeable than my sister's doctor was.

Its spelled glaucoma. Its a condition in which there is elevated pressure inside your eye. This damages your optic nerve and might cause loss of vision.

glaucoma can lead to blindness by damaging the optic nerve..it is usually diagnosed by high pressure,so yours may have been elevated..yet people with normal pressure can lose vision too.Glaucoma is actually a group of diseases with heredity being the most common..there is no cure yet and it can strike anybody at any age including newborns...treatments vary depending on the type you have..visit the page below to get more information on glaucoma and its treatment.Good Luck! take care of them eyes!
