Obviously not!
Either that or they take the attitude:
"Well... we are right so anything we do doesn't count!"

The old testement dose have genocide but this text is used by all Abrahamic faiths and at the time only one of them existed- Judaism.
If you want to talk specificaly about Christianity it would be better to talk about the time from 1 AD to the present. The most violent period would be the mideval period to the 17th century. In the mideval period you had basicly non stop war and the conquest of the Americas the justice system in Christian countries was guilty until proven flamable and the 17th century had the 30 years war faught between Catholics and protestants. Now let's look at Islam in the same period The Muslims had a couple difernt empires which expanded by the sword- it conqured Spain the whole of the Midle east reach to Central asia conqured the Balkans Greece for example should include areas past what is now Istanbul and Armeina should extend farhter south. Some reason they don't instead these places are Turky. History recalls the wars between Muslim caliphs and the Eastern Roman empire. rule by force was very common in the mideval period and the muslims are equaly as guilty of that and the crusades were as a result of the uslims seeing to invade the Balkans- so the issue is do you justify defencive wars? So that leaves the 30 years war and the conquest of the Americas (which was done for cash anyhow) as the bigest crimes commited speificaly by Christians.
Now in modern history we have not had a Chritian thocrasy in some time but the Governments in the middle east tend to be theocratic- forexample Saudi Arabia where the laws and punishments are taken from the Koran and the whim of the King and not from popular concent. The result of the 3o years war was some folks decided we needed to have freedom of Religion while the Islamic nations tend to put restriction on non Muslims.
So if you want to condem Christianity's past then please make sure Islam is innocent which it is not in this case. If you wanted to compair monotheistic religons of the west and Middle east to the Jaines who are veryy pacifistic then this would be a bit more valid, but in this case you have to ignore Islamic history.

This is very true about the Christian faith. From the KKK and Spaniards on back they were merciless killers. But they re-read the 10 commandments along the way and gradually morphed into a better people today.. Its time for Muslims to also enter the 21st century. Find peace and love.

Who is strapping bombs on themselves and blowing up innocent people? It doesn't WHAT any other group has done in the past. Islam cannot excuse what is being done simply because someone else may have done evil in the past. We have to fight the enemy at hand, and not go after some evil ghost of the past.
Muslims are killing people all over the world on a massive scale and not ONE so-called "peaceful" American group of Muslims has stood up to condemn what is happening. What can the Muslims expect?
You do not understand Scripture, so your parallel is a moot point.

I do not degrade anyone.
However, anyone who comes here can't help but know of "their own history," as someone tells ALL CHRISTIANS every day of how we are responsible for The Crusades, witch burnings, persecution, etc. and reminds us of how evil we are....how we steal from the pagans, etc.
I have apologized over and over for The Crusades, for persecution, for witch burnings , etc. How many times must I apologize? 50? 100? 1000? Will it ever be enough? What must I do?
Should I be beaten and tortured?
Are you that cruel, that you want to make me pay?
I believe you refer to the OLD TESTAMENT when you speak of genocide. The OT is Jewish Law.
I wonder if people on here who degrade Christians for what Catholics and Christians did years ago realize that Christians in 2007 can't be held responsible for the past. If you have a murderer, drug dealer, etc. in your family, does that mean you are automatically one as well? Of course not.
Same with Christians. It isn't my fault that a Christian hung a witch. The Crusades are not my fault. I don't feel as if I ought to pay money to a pagan because I celebrate Jesus's birth.

All were engaged in idol worship that engaged prostitution and bestiality. Much of this shows up in their pornographic idol carvings. This continual activity, as we know today, creates strains of STDs that are incurable even today. God protected his people by commanding them to kill all the inhabitants as well as all the animals.
There was also Satan's influence to try and destroy the Jews (where the Messianic line was to come). God protects what is His and destroys them that wish to murder and commit genocide on His chosen people.
God commanded Saul to kill ALL of the Amalekites and their animals. Saul decided to keep the animals and the family of king Agag alive. And who rose up later to wipe out the Jews? Haman (in Esther) of the lineage of the Agagites.
We need to come to terms with the fact that our God is a God of war, and that He will judge this world in the seven year tribulation with far more violence than what we see in the OT. Even our beloved Savior will have His vesture stained with the blood of those who come against Israel.
After Christ came and died for the sins of the world, everything changed to "love your enemies and do good to those that persecute you". Where is the equivalent to that in the Qu'ran? Do you think the Roman Catholic church followed Jesus' command during the Crusades against the Muslims at Jerusalem?
The Crusades took place because the Roman Catholic Church translated the Bible into Latin, locked it up behind gates (yes, literal gates!) and said, "Thus and thus is what God says." From this we got inquisitions, crusades, indulgences and the like.
When the reformation translated the Bible into German and English, the average person could stand up to the evil popery and say "No!" for the Bible says thus and thus. Then the killing and fleecing soon stopped.
Today, the Qu'ran cannot be translated because it is a high and holy form of Arabic. The teachers say the Qu'ran commands to make Jihad against the infidels. They honor woman and children blowing themselves up to kill the innocent. Is that what the Qu'ran truly teaches? Will someone stand up and say "No"?
Looks like history is repeating itself once more, and Islam is now the new Roman Catholic Crusaders. So rather than learning from the past, your question seeks to blame for the past. The average person, not just the person, is judging Islam by the events of the present, NOT from the events of the past. How else are we to respond to thousands of acts of terror committed in the name of Islam since the 70s? And not ONE has been condemned by the Islamic majority in the UN.
I mean really. Use a little common sense here.

Government research in both the US and Europe has found that Christians are vastly over represented in the prison population for sex crimes, assaults and murders. Worse still those convicted of pedophilia and mass murder claim almost exclusively to be christian!!!
So why should we be surprised at all the christian wars?!!!
