Prelude- music played before the ceremony as your guests come in.
Processional-the music the wedding party comes down the aisle to.
Interlude- music played during the ceremony either while the bride and groom do something like light candles, take communion, give gifts to parents etc. or played during ceremony because the song has a special meaning that the couple want to include in the service
Recessional music is what is played as the bridal party files out and may continue as the all the guests leave.

Interlude and Prelude are just pretty classical pieces to be played, and nobody will pay much attention to them. Basically just background music.

Processional music is for your wedding party to come in to. Pachelbel's Canon in D is very popular for this, but you can choose anything you like. You'll have something different for your bride's walk, and the Recessional is usually something stronger and peppier than the rest, this is when you and your new husband are leaving the church together, walking down the aisle with smiles of joy on your faces!

You can also request a specific song for the seating of the mothers/grandparents. I used Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring.

I used Trumpet Voluntary played by a string quartet for my bride's processional.

Interlude is at the beginning and prelude would be where parents would be seated or getting ready for the bride processional is for when the group comes in and Recessional is for leaving .... I feel that it is your wedding and you can use any of them when you want to make it personal to you.....but this may help if you want a traditional wedding

Interlude is just background music, played while your guests are being seated. This can go on for up to thirty minutes.

Prelude is a specific piece of music you choose to be played before the actual processional starts. Sometimes the mothers are seated during the prelude, or other activities can take place. It's expected that everyone will be paying attention at this point.

Processional is the music that you and your wedding party walk in to.

Recessional is the music played at the end, when you are leaving the altar.

Prelude is the music that plays BEFORE the wedding, Processional is for when you are walking down the aisle, recessional is for when you are walking away after the ceremony and interlude is for any pauses.

Processional is as you come in, Prelude is before stuff happens, interlude is in between music and recessional is on the way out.

Prelude music is played before the ceremony, when the guests are being seated. Processional music is played when the participants enter, and the recessional music is played when the participants are leaving. Interlude music is played at a midpoint lull - somewhere during the ceremony itself.

Hi...here is what I know:

Prelude: Played when your guests are coming in and being seated.

Processional: Music that is played when the bridesmaids/groomsmen, flowers girls, etc, AND THE BRIDE are walking down the aisle.

Interlude: Music played sometime during the service. This could be after a reading....after the exchange of vows...after the sermon, etc.

Recessional: Music played as you are walking back down the aisle as husband and wife.

Hope this helps!

prelude = before you walk down the isle ... while guests are being seated
processional = what you & your party will walk down the isle too
recessional = after you are married, when you leave the church as husband & wife (or where ever you are getting married @)
i don't know what the interlude is.
