Can one be both a vegetarian AND a meat eater? No?

Same logic: a person cannot be both Jewish AND Christian.

'jews for jesus' ARE CHRISTIANS.

It is impossible to be Jewish AND to embrace Jesus as messiah. This is because in Judaism, it is HERESY to suggest that a human being can also be G-d incarnate on earth. We are forbidden from worshipping fellow mortals and indeed anything else other than G-d.

'jews for jesus' began life as a group whose sole mission, was to attract 'real' Jews; Jews who did not know much about their own theology and who were not affiliated to any Jewish community. 'jews for jesus' seeks out students, for example, who are away from home for the first time, and befriends them, and gradually brings them into their church. Their church is decked out to resemble a synagogue, note.

Imagine the horror of these Jews and also their families when it is realised that they have adopted CHRISTIAN THEOLOGY while thinking they were attending a genuine synagogue!!
'jews for jesus' incorporates as much Hebrew as possible and some of their male members even dress to resemble orthodox Jews. We are talking deception at the highest level.

Some people will tell you that yes, one can be both Jewish and Christian.

Could a person be both Muslim and Catholic? No.

Hindu and Protestant? No.

The same logic applies to Jewish and Christian. These two faiths are MUTUALLY EXCLUSIVE.

'messianic jew' = Christian

'fulfilled jew' = Christian

'completed jew' = Christian

'christian jew' = Christian

Jewish = Jewish

Allow me to reiterate: it is not possible to be both Jewish AND believe in Jesus as messiah. That would involve doing the VERY thing that G-d warned the Hebrew never to do; idolatry. We are not allowed to worship other humans.

'jewsf for jesus' spends MILLIONS of dollars/pounds a year on its' PR. Their activities are offensive and disturbing to those of us that are actually Jewish and who follow Torah in the true and genuine manner.

EDIT

- only one thing gets to define Jewish identity and that is Judaism. Christians don't get to define it, and 'messianics' CERTAINLY don't get to define it. Jews don't get to define it either - it has already been done for us.

And yes, Jesus was a Jew; he died a practising Jew; he was never a Christian because the faith did not evolve until decades after his death. Yes, the apostles were also Jewish. But Christianity back then was very different from the religion we know now. Back then it was more like Reform Judaism.

The point at which Judaism and Christianity split for all time was the very moment when it was decreed that Jesus was the messiah and the son of G-d; part divine.

These beliefs are heresy in Judaism.

They are 100% Xian.
According to Wikipedia:
Jews for Jesus is a Christian evangelistic organization that focuses specifically on the conversion of Jews to Christianity. Viewing its followers — either Jewish as defined by Jewish law, or Jews according to Jews for Jesus — as "living out their Jewishness,"Jews for Jesus defines "Jewish" in terms of parentage and as a birthright, regardless of religious belief. Identification of Jews for Jesus as a Jewish organization is overwhelmingly rejected by Jewish religious denominations, secular groups[6][7] and the State of Israel due to the Christian - specifically evangelical - beliefs of its members. The group's evangelism related activities are opposed also by some Christian organizations and scholars.
Additionally; Consider the fact that many people, Christians and some Jews as well, erroneously believe that just as one can be Black and Christian, just as one can be Oriental and Christian, one can also be Jewish and Christian. It is not true. The Jews are not a race. There is no genetic code passed from either mother or father to the child that makes that child a Jew. Even if all, or some, of the genetic code in a child could be proved to be of Jewish Origin, that would not make the child a Jew. Jewish law determines who is a Jew, and Jewish law is quite clear. If a person's mother is a Jew, and that person has not converted to another faith, then that person will be considered fully Jewish, so long as that person wishes to identify solely as a Jew. Although one cannot convert to become a member of a race, for example one cannot convert to become an Oriental or an African-American, one who converts to Judaism does, indeed, become fully a Jew. Similarly, if one converts from Judaism to another faith, one is no longer a Jew.

They are a Christian Missionary group targeting Jews.

They formed a "Jewish style" form of Christianity in order to evangelize Jews, who were resistant and found Christian iconography, liturgy, and culture distasteful, based on centuries of painful associations with those symbols.

By retrofitting Jewish symbols, Hebrew language, Jewish culture and Jewish traditions into their proselizing campaign, they hope to make Jews feel more comfortable and thus more likely to accept Christian doctrine.

It's old wine in a new casket. Or vice versa, maybe.

Jesus does not play a role as a religious figure in the Jewish faith. Obviously, any group devoted to Jesus is, by definition, a Christian religious group - no matter what the title of their organization.

A group of people who converted from Judaism to Christianity may obviously contain a large number of people who are ethnically of Jewish descent. But such a group does remain a Christian group. It is - I think - offensive to both Judaism and Christianity to hold otherwise.

Jesus himself was a JEW and all his followers (disciples) were first called "Christians" at Antioch. The definition of Christian is to be a follower of Christ. So then, the Jews for Jesus technically are Christians now.

Welcome...you must be new to R&S as this seems to be the age old debate! Messianic Jews are NOT Jewish - they are Christian! You absolutely cannot accept Jesus as your savior and messiah and be considered Jewish! And you are either Jewish OR Christian - not both! It's impossible!
Peace..

I have to say I never understood that....Jews do not beleive in Christ so saying Jews for Jesus is an oxymoron...i think it's good they they beleive in Jesus, therefore if they beleive in Jesus they are Christian.

They are neither one nor the other. They are
like the wolf in a lamb's skin. They dress Jewish and speak Christian. They simply straddle the issue with a leg in Judaism and the other in Christianity. They are just like the Jews-for-Baal of the time of Elijah.
