You answered your question yourself, so I will not repeat it. Instead, I will tell you a true story.

A former colleague/close friend of mine was fired for a trumped-up ethics violation at work (although I know they had been trying to get rid of her for months and were watching her computer activity and probably learned that she had just received a job offer with the local competitor). I had warned her repeatedly to be careful, and that her phone and computer activity were being monitored. She did not believe they would do this to her, as she was a Mensan and Ph.D. candidate, had a family, had just purchased a new home near the office, etc. She was very wrong.

Anyway, she was without income for a month during the transition to a new job. It was tough, but she came through. She has had several great jobs, even with her blemished record. You will pull through as well. Don't give up.

Don't wait ... get busy and keep looking. Go to the temp agencies ... it's likely that they can keep you working until you find a permanent job. Losing a job is very stressful and can cause depression which will worsen over time if you don't stay positive. Keep a good attitude and look toward the future ... don't look back and don't stop trying. You can't move forward by standing still. Try reaching out to family or social services if you need some financial help for a short time.

Go file for unemployment. Take a few weeks to figure out what you want to do and relax a bit. Then go look for a job and keep looking until you land something. Its a fulltime job trying to find a job these days, the market is bad so start making a great r esume and being your job search. Look on sites such as monster and yahoo, look in your local classifieds and ask friends. Best of luck

Two easy steps: Acknowledge and Move On

1. Acknowledge: What happened to the last job? How can you ensure it does not happen again? We cannot change the past, only try to keep from repeating it.

2. Move On: With the knowledge you've gained from step one, find another job, perhaps it may even be better. Try to avoid the mistakes from the past. Even if the mistake was the type of job. Don't let the past keep you down. Rise up to the challenge of the future.

Go to www.snagajob.com or www.job.com after you take a breather for a day or two. Just look in the mirror and tell that person: You can do it!

Be positive, walk straight, be clean, and speak strong. When you are asked a question, look them straight in the eye and never look away. Aways know what you are talking about. When you go for a job, it's scarey, but why is it? We scare our selves, all they can do is say no. I've never known for the word "no" to hurt us. Go for several jobs at one time, it saves time and gas. If none of the above works, go back to school. Good Luck!

Well, I understand. You should get like a part time job at a shop while you apply for a real full-time job. You'll get a little money so you won't lose so much of your savings. Do it immediately. You should always have some savings money in case of an emergency.

Look for a job, sell stuff on E-bay or have a yard sale. Once you have a little cash some of the motivation will return.

Try to find a job that looks interesting. Use the newspaper, monster.com etc. Ask friends, look in store windows.

I have been there.
Most my holiday money went on a refrigerator not working.
I put a bunch of stuff on E-bay and am hoping.

As some have suggested that you file for unemployment, you need to check with your local office since you may not have been at the job long enough to qualify...
Next...sign-up with any and all Temp agencies you can, and hit the pavement...at least until you can find a permanent job, a temp angency can keep you busy enough to earn a paycheck...

When the going gets tough the tough get going and in your case file for unemployment ASAP because it can take up to six weeks to get your first check; then apply at a minimum of three employment agencies, then apply online at hot jobs, Monster, etc and try craigslist. You don't have time to worry and feel bad you have to take action right now.

The sooner you get a job the better or you may end up out on the streets. Your saved $ will only last so long.
